All seemed fine until night time. My daughter opened up the pull out sofa and the mattress was saturated with blood stains. Not just a drop or two - one-third of the mattress was covered. ( I have photos). I immediately went down to the front desk to request a replacement and I showed the photos. The gentleman was very nonchalant and seemed disinterested in helping me. He said that we could remove the mattress but that there were no other ones available. I said YES, I definitely want it removed. Just the thought that it's in there is grossing us all out.. But I told him that I NEEDED another (clean!) mattress because we needed the sleeping space. Well, he eventually admitted that there was another room, just like the one I had, so I asked him to please have the mattresses switched. Instead, he attempted to have me switch rooms. I declined that option because my (1) teen daughters were already in pajamas, and (2) we had arrived at the hotel earlier that day and had taken the time to unload ALL of our belongings (took forever) into the room, plus (3) I had already gone through the trouble of sanitizing the current room. (4) Lastly, when we had first arrived to check in and requested to check in early, the attendant was kind enough to tell me that she could get us into a room right away but to be warned that the room was on the ”highway side” of the hotel and that some people complain about the noise. So i told her I'd just wait until the regular checkin time and get a quieter room. This is my 4th reason for declining the room change, because I didn't want a noisier room. In any case, I asked him if he could simply have someone change out the mattresses for us. He said no because he was the only one there and that he'd have the ”shut down the hotel” in order for him to do it himself. So I said ”well can I do it? Because it's highly unfeasible for us to load up and switch rooms at this hour.” So, yes, I had to move the disgusting mattress out of my room myself, and there were no gloves for me to use. I then had to go to a room on a different floor to grab the clean mattress off that sofa bed, load it onto the elevator, and drag it back to my room. After all was done - i had to return the room key for the new room to the attendant, he tells me that ”someone in housekeeping actually DID come in for the evening shift.” And he finally changed his tune and was nice and apologized, but I was NOT happy having to handle a mattress with what looked like someone elses body fluids. Also, the shower was lined in what looked like mildewy dust - so it was not probably cleaned at all. The trash can liners were not properly installed. Crumbs were on the floor. This was a convenient location, but I would not stay here again. It looks nice at first glance, but if you want REAL clean and not the kind of ”clean” your kids will do to their rooms, I advise against staying here. Oh lastly - when the sofa bed is opened (on the King studio room with pull-out sofa),

My wife and I stayed here for the first time last week. We live an hour away and came to celebrate my birthday. The hotel is built next to the Black Warrior River in the newly renovated River Park area which is a short walk to many bars and restaurants. There is also ample parking. The property itself is modern and very clean.. The Front Desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was 523, just a few doors from the Rooftop Bar. Our room was immaculate, very comfortable, and offered a nice view of the river. We visited the Rooftop Bar participated in a Rose’ wine tasting with a portion of the proceeds going to the local food bank. There we tasted some really good wines and had the pleasure of meeting the Hotel General Manager, Cassie, and the Assistant General Manager, Daniellie, who went out of there way to ensure we had a fantastic stay. Later that evening, we sat on the outside deck and enjoyed the nighttime view of the city. We will definitely return, making this hotel a regular for weekend getaways. Thanks again to Cassie, Daniellie, and the entire Hotel Indigo staff for a fantastic stay!

I was in town for the game, and I was very impressed with this hotel and the staff. Ample parking. There is a restaurant on top that doesn’t open until 2:00, but there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. The staff informed guests of all transportation options available to and from the stadium. It is a mile and a half walk, which was my option. Universality Blvd is safe going there, but I did find myself being mindful of my surroundings coming back especially in an area where there weren’t many people around that late of night. If I return to Tuscaloosa, this will be my first option for hotel arrangements.

First of all when I went in to check in, the girl at the front desk was very nice, but it has been years since I have actually had to fill out a hand written form to register for a room that I had a reservation for and also am a IHG member and my reservation had all that information on it when I made the reservation. Kind of seemed like it was not up to date with its system. I normally only have to show my ID. Anyway got thru that and our room was not finished being cleaned, so we had to wait a little while. Normally this would not be an issue, but my 86 year old Mother was with me and she was not feeling well. Again the girl at the front desk was very helpful in getting the room completed as quickly as possible. We had no problem with the room whatsoever! It was a great room. I believe they had just completed some renovation. The problem We did have was about an hour after we had been there someone was trying to get in the door. I thought maybe someone just had the wrong room. Before I could get to the door it opened and a female and male hotel staff member were at the door. They both looked alarmed, as I was. The female staff member said they thought no one was in the room and checking to make sure it was clean. They apologized and shut the door. About an hour later the same thing happened except it was two male hotel staff members. One was carrying a small laptop and the other had a piece of paper he was holding and said he was showing the room was vacant. I assured him the room was not vacant! He said have a nice stay and shut the door. This totally should have never happened the first time, but certainly not two times within a couple of hours. Again I am not sure if their system is outdated, not working, or what exactly the problem was, but that was totally unacceptable! I saw them doing that to other rooms as I was going in and out of my room, so I am sure we were not the only ones they busted in on. I hope it was not some of those young volleyball girls there for the tournament. It probably would’ve terrified them. Again, whatever the problem, it was unacceptable for that to have happened once much less twice. Other than that the hotel was fine.
