It was a bit painful from the get go checking in. You have to go to a different hotel a block over. There is nowhere to park to check in. I called the number to be put through to a call centre that isn’t on site. Call 1: yes you can park in the visitor parking just buzz and they’ll let you in. Call 2: while blocking the driveway I’m unable to find a buzzer that reaches reception. Operator sounds confused, I hang up and someone is coming out so I sneak in. Call 3: I’m parked in visitor parks, go up the lift and come out at another building. She again sounds confused. If I go out the door I won’t be able to get back in without a fob, so I’m asking which way I should go. There are no signs to tell me how to get to Ivy and Eve apartments. I eventually find a worker who takes me around to reception. Sorted. Or so I think. I check in with reception. The girl was really lovely and informative. So I think, until I reach the carpark of the next building I’m staying at. The sheet of paper she gave me says “your allocated car space is 131 and is located on 55. I drive in looking for level 55, car space 131. Neither of these exist. Call 4: Where is my carpark? Am I missing something. Keep in mind every time I call I’m asked to give all my details so they can verify my booking so by now I’m pretty tired of it all. She finds my booking and says oh yes you’re in park 55 on level B1. (See photo for why I was confused!) I drive around the carpark looking for a 55. It doesn’t exist. All carparks are labelled with a sign saying Art house and 4 numbers. Ok maybe it’s the last 2? Nope doesn’t exist. After driving around for a bit I realise there are numbers on the ground of the carpark that are completely different to the signs (I didn’t look at the ground because the signs said art house) So finally I work out that this is my park. Another confused guest stops to ask me where his park might be and I explain it’s the floor ones not the art house signs. So I wasn’t the only one. Ok so park the car, go upstairs to room 1106 which of course is on floor 10. Makes sense lol. As soon as I open the door I’m hit with a wet musty kind of smell. Like the place had been flooded and not allowed to dry out properly maybe? I opened all the windows and when that didn’t work I went and bought some air freshener to hide the smell a bit. We left all the doors open all night and next day and the smell improved. The lounge chairs are not comfy if you’re looking for a stay in watch Netflix type staycay, but the beds are really comfy. The place was pretty immaculately clean so that was nice. And washer dryer were great to have. If I had have known I’d need to go through all that checkin at another building I would not have booked. Maybe I missed the part that mentioned this? Ahh well we enjoyed our stay in general, it just didn’t get off to a good start.

Les transports en commun ne sont pas très pratiques, surtout la nuit où il n'y a souvent pas de bus et où il faut beaucoup de temps pour remonter la côte et rentrer à l'hôtel. Il y a des bus en journée, mais ils ne sont pas très fréquents. L'hôtel Central est assez éloigné, il faut compter environ une colline. La douche de la salle de bain émet un étrange bruit mécanique lorsqu'on l'allume, mais il y a deux lavabos, ce qui est un avantage. Il y avait quelques taches noires sur le lit, mais la chambre était plutôt grande. Cependant, étant située à un étage inférieur, la vue depuis la fenêtre était pratiquement inexistante, sans aucune intimité. Le deuxième étage donne sur un parking souterrain très fréquenté. Le lendemain matin, ma carte de crédit a été débitée inexplicablement de plus de 270 $, sans compter la caution de 100 $. Après avoir contacté le responsable par courriel, je n'ai reçu aucune explication, seulement des excuses et un remboursement. C'était très étrange.

Surfers Beach Holiday Apartments was a great place to stay for our family. The management was helpful. Rooms were of a good size. The location is quiet. It is a easy walk to catch the G:tram. This makes getting to Surfers Paradise or other locations easy. Riding the G is also much cheaper and easier than trying to find parking for the car. While we were there, there were few people using the pool. Our grandkids had a great time... and mostly had the pool to themselves. I didn't realize there wasn't an elevator.(My fault for not checking.) Being on the third floor normally wouldn't have been an issue. Because of health issues for one of our family members, it would have been easier if we had been on a lower floor. If I had contacted the management when booking they said they would have tried to give us a lower floor. It's a great place and I highly recommend it.

Un excellent hôtel, que je recommande vivement, ne serait-ce que pour le personnel et le petit-déjeuner. J'ai constaté qu'une grande attention était portée aux personnes se rendant dans les hôpitaux des environs. L'enregistrement s'est fait très facilement et le personnel de la réception était très aimable. Ce que j'ai particulièrement apprécié : * le petit-déjeuner équilibré inclus, * le parking gratuit sur place, * la Ferrari à la réception (je ne sais pas pourquoi elle est là, et je ne suis pas passionné de voitures, mais c'est une touche d'élégance), * le personnel très accueillant et aimable, * la chambre propre et bien agencée, * le lit confortable, * la climatisation efficace, * l'ambiance conviviale dans tout l'établissement, * la proximité du centre commercial de Chermside, à deux pas, * l'excellent rapport qualité-prix. Ce que j'ai moins apprécié : * l'insonorisation perfectible ; on entend parfois des bruits provenant des autres chambres et des couloirs, * une légère odeur se dégageait du balcon en début de soirée, ce qui m'a dissuadé de dîner dehors avant plus tard ; c'était peut-être dû à un jour particulier. Il était assez agréable plus tard pour laisser la porte ouverte et profiter d'une légère brise pendant la nuit. Hautement recommandé.

The apartment is serviced by Wowstay, not the Mantra Hotel. So the key has to be picked up from a lockbox at the base of the hotel and returned to the same lockbox. It’s a very professional and easy process, however I would recommend when dropping the key off to drive your car from the car park to the front of the Mantra Hotel checkin area. Leave your car there as there is no other convenient / close places to park. Then walk up the stairs around the side of the Mantra building to the lockbox area. The apartment I stayed in was on the 21st floor facing the ocean. It has the same layout as the other apartments with a modern bathroom, large sized bath that looks out over the bedroom, out to the ocean. The main bedroom and lounge have floor to ceiling views. It has a large balcony and great views of the coast. It has an extra large flatscreen TV, nice art work, a full kitchen. It also has a very comfortable leather lounge. There is an open study area that is used as an open bedroom for two single beds. The main bedroom has a king size bed. However I did find it unusual that a single pop-up bed had been made with linen in the same main bedroom. ( it was placed between the window and the end the bed, which obscured the view and took up the rest of the space in the bedroom. It looked out of place, it wasn’t necessary) it was easy to fold up, which I did and I placed it in the other area with the two other beds. I suggest you do the same if this happens to you. Or maybe you can request that it’s not used in the apartment? I will next time I stay. The location is great, central to everything. I have stayed at the Mantra through the hotel a few times before, however it was cheaper through Wowstay and it was as nice as the hotel apartments, so I will stay here again when I’m visiting the Surfers Paradise. The extra bonus with booking this via Wowstay, is that a carpark space is included with the booking, however if you book an apartment through the Mantra Hotel, you will be charged an additional fee.

Beautiful gorgeous apartment. We booked the beachfront view and it was absolutely perfect. Unobstructed view of the ocean + tennis courts. Pool was warm, clean and refreshing. Beautful long walk by the beach to Surfers Paradise. Bus stop a minute away to go anywhere in GC. Service by Luke, the young blonde guy at reception was a 2/5. We were given a room that didn't have a working dishwasher & dryer. Luke didn't even attempt to make any suggestions to help us. We had to return the next day to ask the older lady if we could use another dryer as we had a lot of wet clothes from being at the beach daily and at the pool. Our first day, we loaded the dishwasher and left for town only to come back to a flooded kitchen. We cleaned up without making a fuss. Service needs to be better.

This was not our first stay and in the main it was good. We stayed twice on this trip with a stint on Magnetic Island in between. Service on our departure stay was while not bad was marred by the gentleman who was abrupt and less than enthusiastic about being helpful. We arrived in the morning knowing we couldn’t get in until later and were greeted by a friendly and helpful reception attendant. Who said we would let us know by text as soon as a room was available for us. We took that to mean if we could enter our room before the scheduled check in time we would get a message. We never got a message. In fact we had ran out of ways to entertain ourselves and keep cool with just under an hour to check in time. So we went to the reception to assign the room was ready and were grumpily informed our room wasn’t ready and that is why we had not had a text. We understood this could be the case but the summary dismissal was far from reasonable customer service. No apology given we had patiently waited for over four hours already. We waited in the lobby and watched as others were given rooms. Why we had to wait while others did not was given no explanation and made no senseh to us. When check in time came and went is when I had to contain myself. One thing for us to be shunned for being early but for them to tell our room was not available at the time the business had committed to was very frustrating. It showed they had no system and were unprepared to provide reasonable customer service. We waited patiently and thankfully not for much longer and maintained our positive countenance. Thank goodness the room was,while only on the first floor, the better of rooms we had stayed in and worth the wait had it been managed better. If it weren’t for the grumpy reception we would have rated this trip more highly. Hopefully this business can get its cleaning process and attitude to customers of male staff improved the location value and room would be highly recommended as is a little work to do.

CLLIX Brisbane Skytower Apartments

Tout d'abord, c'est le plus haut bâtiment du centre-ville de Brisbane. Après l'enregistrement au rez-de-chaussée, les chambres sont divisées en quatre zones accessibles par carte à travers différentes portes, selon la signalisation : Downtown (6e-16e étages), Uptown (17e-39e étages), Skycity (42e-66e étages) et Skyrise (67e-81e étages). Ces informations ne sont absolument pas mentionnées lors de la réservation en ligne. Les étages jusqu'au 39e sont pratiquement identiques. Comme le montre la photo, nous étions au 25e étage et n'avions qu'une vue sur le bâtiment d'en face, sans aucun panorama. Le 40e étage abrite la salle de sport et la piscine. La piscine intérieure est petite, mais on peut s'y amuser. La piscine extérieure semble être alimentée par de l'eau thermale, car on y voit des bulles, et des étrangers s'y baignent par des températures de 10 degrés et un vent fort. La salle de sport offre une vue magnifique sur la ville de Brisbane, permettant de courir tout en admirant le paysage urbain. Ensuite, la propreté de la chambre est satisfaisante et les équipements sont complets. La cuisine dispose d'une cuisinière à gaz, d'un lave-vaisselle, d'un four, d'un micro-ondes, d'un grille-pain, d'une bouilloire, et tous les ustensiles de cuisine sont fournis. Il y a aussi une machine à laver/sèche-linge avec des pastilles de lessive et de lave-vaisselle. Cependant, il n'y a pas de machine à café, mais du café instantané et des capsules de lait sont disponibles. Ah oui, j'ai remarqué qu'une des tasses n'avait pas été correctement nettoyée par le client précédent. De plus, cela confirme bien qu'il s'agit d'un appartement compact de deux chambres. La petite chambre a été qualifiée de 'prison' par mon enfant, comme le montre la photo 8. Enfin, comme dans d'autres appart'hôtels, il n'y a ni chaussons ni brosse à dents et dentifrice. Pour les séjours de moins d'une semaine, il n'y a pas de service de chambre, mais vous pouvez demander des serviettes à la réception. Pour finir, il est important de noter le rappel amical de l'hôtel (voir photo 1) : lors du départ, vous devez vider les poubelles (le local à poubelles se trouve au même étage), mettre tous les ustensiles de cuisine usagés dans le lave-vaisselle et le démarrer, éteindre les lumières et quitter les lieux.

Nous sommes arrivés à l'hôtel à 23h, ayant réservé deux chambres. À la réception, une employée nous a aidés à prolonger notre séjour dans nos chambres initiales. Cependant, lors des formalités, nous avons découvert qu'une chambre était au 16ème étage et l'autre au 5ème, ce qui n'était pas pratique pour s'occuper de nos aînés. Les chambres étant complètes, aucun échange n'était possible. Le personnel de la réception nous a alors informés que nous devions libérer la chambre 505 à 10h le lendemain, laisser nos bagages à la réception, puis être transférés dans la chambre 1604 après 14h. Après l'enregistrement, nous avons estimé que devoir libérer une chambre à 10h nuirait au repos de toute la famille. Nous sommes donc retournés à la réception pour négocier afin de ne pas changer de chambre. La réception avait changé de personnel : le directeur de l'accueil et deux réceptionnistes ont vérifié à plusieurs reprises. Le responsable de service nous a alors informé de manière sévère et brusque que nous n'avions réservé qu'une seule nuit, que nous devions libérer la chambre le lendemain et qu'aucune information concernant une prolongation de séjour n'avait été trouvée. Très embarrassés et impuissants, nous avons dû effectuer immédiatement l'opération de prolongation de séjour à la réception. L'hôtel a refusé d'annuler le départ. Le téléphone de la réception de l'hôtel n'a tout simplement pas été décroché devant nous lorsque le service client de Ctrip a appelé. À 00h48, le service client de Ctrip a utilisé mon téléphone pour négocier avec le responsable de la réception, sans succès. Notre demande était simple : prolonger notre séjour dans les mêmes chambres, sans avoir à changer. Le service client de Ctrip nous a activement aidés, nous informant qu'ils enverraient un e-mail au service d'entretien ménager de l'hôtel le lendemain à 9h pour confirmer notre souhait de prolonger le séjour dans nos chambres. À 10h le matin, le service d'entretien ménager de l'hôtel nous a tous réveillés pour nous demander de quitter les lieux. Nous avons insisté sur notre souhait de rester dans les mêmes chambres, et l'hôtel ne nous a plus contactés par la suite. Un grand merci au service client de Ctrip pour leur excellent service en pleine nuit, qui s'est battu pour défendre nos droits face au langage froid, rigide et inflexible du responsable de la réception de l'hôtel. Merci beaucoup !
