Emplacement idéal, à proximité de l'endroit où je dois me rendre. Les toilettes sont impeccables. La cuisine est super. Mon colocataire et le personnel sont adorables. Le seul bémol : il y a un réfrigérateur mais pas de congélateur, donc impossible d'acheter de la glace ! Haha !

Cet endroit est vraiment bon. Les installations sont bien équipées. Salle de bain propre avec eau chaude. Et la situation est très confortable, proche du lac et du supermarché

Il faut un peu moins de 20 minutes en bus depuis la gare routière centrale de Kleinstein, ou environ 30 minutes à pied. Cette auberge de jeunesse, aménagée dans une ancienne prison, se trouve à deux pas de la rue principale. J'avais obtenu le mot de passe d'accès à l'avance ; je n'ai donc eu de contact avec le personnel que pour emprunter un sèche-cheveux. Le lit superposé du bas est équipé de rideaux, contrairement à celui du haut. Le Wi-Fi était disponible dans le hall et dans ma chambre.

I have previously stayed in this chain of pod hotels and the one up in Auckland was fantastic and I gave a raving review. Perhaps I got these guys on a bad day but I really felt the service had dropped significantly since  my First visit a year and a half ago in Auckland.  The main concern I had was the bathroom was pretty disgusting and something that I would definitely not use. You can see the reasons why in the photos that I will post. Mainly there was here all around the place and a lot of dropped water on the floor old products just in the corner even if they were advertise as free it looked disgusting and could be done in a much clean hygienic way. Just needs a bit more quality management in this area.  perhaps I got them at the end of the weekend with low interest in maintaining clean bathrooms but this was just not good. My second gripe or concern was that inside the pod the electronics of the light and fan were not visible and I took at least 15 minutes to figure out how to actually turn on off the lights and this was only done eventually by accident by me accidentally touching the panel as the back light of the panel was not functioning therefore it was not easy to determine where to turn the light on and off. My last gripe was that the door needs to be more effectively managed because it still slamming every time someone goes in and Out likely waking everyone in the pods certainly Juan understands in this type of accommodation you have to put up with a bit of noise but this was a little bit out there at 6 am 7 am in the morning. So overall, a little disappointed, but for the price point it served its purpose.

I really enjoyed staying at Dusky Lodge. Friendly staff , cosy room , nice communal areas and the bonus of a spa pool . Excellent value.

Very nice location, good for relaxing, 1 km from town center, but so close to the lake by just crossing the street. I would love to stay longer next time. If you reach late at night, it’s better to contact hotel in advance and ask for map and photos of your room location before. I arrived very late at night from Christchurch (changed transit flight from Auckland). It took me awhile to understand the map, room location and where to park. It was just 1 day after new moon. So, it was very dark. It’s hard for me to figure out the scale of the place and I didn’t see the small cabin at the back from the street.

L'emplacement est idéal, en plein centre-ville. Il est proche des plus grands parcs de Christchurch (Jardin botanique, Hagley Park), et les galeries d'art et les musées sont accessibles à pied, ce qui facilite les visites. Ce n'est pas un endroit idéal pour un long séjour. Il faut louer des serviettes pour 2 $, et la consigne à bagages coûte 4 $. De plus, l'arrivée est possible jusqu'à 16 h le jour même. L'arrivée et le départ sont entièrement automatisés, je ne comprends donc pas ces tarifs élevés. Le personnel n'est ni très serviable ni très aimable ; une nuit suffit amplement.

Location is close to the town center but is a slight uphill walk so could be a bit tiring with heavy luggage. There is a small garden area and even some guinea pigs and rabbits as well. Can get a little chilly but better once the wall heater is turned up a little.

C'était la semaine de Pâques, le restaurant était donc fermé. J'ai appelé et on m'a ouvert. Comme c'est un bar, il est peut-être fréquenté en temps normal, mais il vaut mieux vérifier auprès du personnel. Tout le monde était très accueillant et aimable, ce qui m'a mis à l'aise en entrant dans ma chambre. La chambre privée était conforme aux photos et disposait même d'un réfrigérateur. Elle était propre et très confortable. Il pleuvait, la température extérieure a donc baissé, mais cela n'a pas affecté la chambre. La cuisine, la douche et les toilettes communes sont un véritable vestige historique, car le restaurant existe depuis le XIXe siècle. La cuisine a cependant été rénovée et est compatible avec l'induction. Je n'avais utilisé que le gaz jusqu'à présent, mais je n'ai eu aucun problème ! J'ai également choisi cet hôtel car je comptais assister à un match de rugby. Il est à seulement 15 minutes à pied environ, et il y a un McDonald's et d'autres restaurants. L'éclairage public est généralement allumé, donc je ne pense pas que la situation en matière de sécurité pose problème. Je recommande vivement cet hôtel, contrairement à d'autres comme le Doritomi. N'hésitez pas à l'essayer ! Merci pour ce merveilleux séjour !

I stayed in a mixed dorm room for two nights. The location of Hakka House is good. The intercity bus drops you there and pick you up. Walking to Hermitage Hotel or Visitor Centre is around 15 mins or so. From Visitor Centre, you can walk to ****** Valley track or Kea Point track, each is 1 hour one way. I highly recommend ****** Valley track. People in Hakka House usually stay for one night. In any case, for both nights, my roommates switched off the lights of the room as early as 9:30 pm. The room is too stuffy and hot as it seems that only an inch of the window is opened, probably too cold if opening the window more. Shower room is relatively tidy (very much depends on the users) but it seems that there is only one hair dryer for the entire ground floor which is not convenient. Imagine a lady with long hair will need to use it for at least 15 mins or so and there are many ladies who need to use the hair dryer. The kitchen is impressive. Well maintained and clean, good ventilation too.
