Cà de Tobia

We spent 5 nights in this excellent guesthouse where every element has obviously been chosen for comfort in an inspired playful design. It was amazingly clean and well organized, so that, combined with the outstanding hospitality, we did not want to leave. While on a busy road, windows are soundproofed. Breakfast is tradional Italian in a lovely breakfast room, served individually rather than as buffet, although that may have been because it was so quiet in the off-season. We stayed in the junior suite with sea view, which comes with a huge double shower. It was obvious that the owner had both exceptional hospitality skills and actually enjoyed meeting new people, and we found the balance of friendliness and respect for privacy perfect for us. We highly recommend booking here for a relaxed stay.

We travel for new experiences, our experience at Ca' de Tobia will be one we remember forever. The guesthouse was a family home beginning in 1880 and Andrea has transformed it into a comfortable, cozy, elegant spot with one of the best if not the best locations in Noli. Open the window and step onto the terrace for immediate immersion into Noli's lovely energy and people watching. Close the double paned glass door and you're back into a quiet, peaceful oasis. I've been a business owner in hospitality for many years, but how Andrea continues to make gorgeous breakfasts for guests everyday and be as open, warm and charming for so many years is beyond me. His passion for welcoming people into his traditional family home is remarkable. Sergio's support with reservations at local trattorias or Michelin starred restaurants, or any activity was epic, concierge level attention and so appreciated. We miss Ca de Tobia already and count the days until we can return. AND go see his lovely sister at Vittoria Beach Club!

Perfect, big room and fancy bathroom, with a gorgeous bed and unique breakfast. Close to the sea and all restaurants in Noli. And Sergio makes all the difference: his recommendations, his attention to details, his humour just enriches the whole experience.

Exquisite stay in a mini boutique hotel Fully refurbished and right in front of the beach. Sergio and Andrea will make everything to make your stay pleasant. The “whispered” breakfast with sea views (see pictures) and home home baked local specialities is simply unmissable. Included in the stay a full sized Italian aperitivo on the beach club right across the street, which we also recommend as dinner option. Being a couples only hotel they also have a spacious loft in the village in case you visit with kids. We will be back.

We picked Noli as a place to visit for three nights, not by throwing darts at a map, but with a "find a small town on the Italian riviera that has a reasonably close train station" guideline. My wife then selected Ca' de Tobia because it was highly rated, close to the old town, and directly across from the beach and promenade. The good: Our taxi driver from the Spotorno-Noli train station knew Ca' de Tobia, so we had no trouble getting there. We were met at the door by Andrea, who showed us around the immaculate property and briefed us on how to use the three keys we'd need to get back in. Sergio was our point of contact after that, greeting us in the morning with a large spread of delicious food and drinks. I feel bad not eating much breakfast, after his work preparing so much food every morning. He was great to chat with in the morning, and he provided excellent recommendations, from which restaurants we might like to eat dinner at, to what we might want to see during the day. (Visit Finalborgo! It's wonderful.) The property is very nicely furnished and appointed, and was kept spotlessly clean. The first night, I believe we had the entire property to ourselves, and it was blissfully quiet. The less-good: While I thought that the mattress was comfortably squishy, my wife found it too soft and uncomfortable in that regard. The windows in the room we stayed in were behind a dresser that was exactly the height of the bottom of the window, so if you had anything at all on the dresser, you couldn't open the window. The floors are bare, which probably keeps the place cool in summer, but would also allow noise to carry if someone were in the hallway making any amount of noise. Proximity to the beach and promenade may mean more noise during high season. Overall, our stay in Noli was extremely pleasant, and the small things I complain about are indeed small things. Sergio in particular made our time at Ca' de Tobia a pleasure.

Charming guesthouse with good facilities. As we were out of season we got free parking only 50m away. Very good sea views from the breakfast room. Lots of fascinating art throughout the property. Especially loved the ceramic collage in the breakfast room. Sergio was very helpful and recommended an excellent local restaurant for dinner. The range of homemade and local food for breakfast was great. Altogether a lovely place to stay while exploring Noli.
