Premier Inn Dumbarton/Loch Lomond

Deary deary me , Premier Inn you have really let yourself go on this one , we have stayed at many Premier Inn hotels in the past and each one has been brilliant , but not so this one , at 1st glance we thought that the building , especially the restaurant was derelict , the condition and appearance is just awful ,the interior of the restaurant is just terrible , the paintwork and furnishings are the left overs from BrewersFayre and has never been touched , even the breakfast plates still have the logo of BrewersFayre stamped on them , bad points , arrived for breakfast and was if I would like a boiled or poached egg for breakfast , went for the poached egg only for it to be brought out to me just as I was starting my cereal , hence , poached egg was cold and unedible by the time that I had went for my Scottish breakfast good points , apart from that the food we had was good including evening meals which we went for on their meal deal , drinks , would have been lovely to have had a pint of lager but not available as they had none , excuse , the delivery was late , hard to accept that excuse , after all we are talking about Premier Inn here , now onto the bedroom , a real timelapse back into the 80's , furniture really needs updating , also only one hand towel between two , was told at reception that that was Premier Inn policy and no cups for rinsing out your mouth in the bathroom , again was told that this is Premier Inn policy ," really" , good point ,bed was clean and the shower was very good , this is certainly not what we would expect from Premier Inn ,

The young lady on check in was welcoming. The bed was comfortable & the room was quiet. There was plenty of parking. Sadly, we didnt enjoy our stay this time & checked out a day early. When we first entered our room, the toilet hadn't been cleaned. Evening meal next door was very disappointing. The menu has been drastically streamlined from our previous visit. No more room service & not a lot to choose from, food or bar drinks. The pasta was very undercooked with hot & cold spots from being microwaved. The curry had 5 small pieces of chicken & a stale poppadom. We did voice our complaints but declined a discount in the restaurant. Hopefully feedback will be listened to & of use.

Been to many premier inn and must say that the staff here are exceptional second to none warm welcoming helpful went out there way at every opportunity room was clean restaurant is tired but is being sold off and the hotel itself is under refurbishment which will host the new restaurant WiFi is my only downfall poor reception but I know this area and has always been the same esp because its close to Loch lomond Road which you always lose even car radio reception but as for my stay here regardless of refurbishment 10/10 and like I said the staff went above and beyond premier inn are lucky to have these guys here so thank folks for the warm and friendly stay Ian

My wife and I stayed here for 2 separate nights in April / May as a stop off whilst travelling further north and back. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming and, as we have come to expect from Premier Inn, our room was clean and comfortable. However the restaurant is very tired looking and despite the waitresses appearing to work very hard, the service was very slow. Having stayed here before, the restaurant has definitely gone downhill since no longer being a Brewers Fayre pub.

Undergoing renovation at present. But the first room we were allocated smelled of stale cigarette smoke, so we moved to another room which also had an odour of dome kind. There was as air purifier already in the room so they were aware of the smell. The beds were clean and comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Breakfast was fine the first morning, but second morning it was cool (bacon, beans, mushrooms and eggs) as they weren't covered. On a positive, hopefully after full renovation the room standard improves.
