"I came to Ashtamaya while recovering from an ACL injury, needing a peaceful and affordable place. The owner offered me a small room at ₹4,000 per 7 days. Later, over the phone, he said I could stay long-term for ₹12,000/month and pay in smaller parts — so I understood the next ₹4,000 payment was for 10 days. But soon, I realized the services were not provided — the room was never cleaned. Worse, the cleaning lady came in and started asking invasive questions like “Why are you here?” and “When are you leaving?” After that, she stopped cleaning at all. I began to feel uncomfortable and unsafe.During almost 1 month stay she only came to clean 3 times!!!! Not even toilet paper was provided! I had to always go and ask at the reception! I decided to leave early, paid as agreed, and moved out peacefully. But after I left, I received strange messages from others, claiming the police were looking for me and demanding my passport and visa photo over WhatsApp — which is completely inappropriate. I felt harassed and disturbed and had to contact my embassy and begin an official complaint to protect myself. I do not recommend this place, especially to solo women or anyone in a vulnerable situation. What seems calm at first can become deeply unsettling."

"I recently stayed at zostel, and I was extremely disappointed. The rooms were tiny, with barely any space to move around. There was absolutely no room to open my luggage, so everything just ended up in a disorganized mess. On top of that, the overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming. The staff were not particularly friendly or helpful, and it didn’t feel like a comfortable or hospitable environment at all. Definitely not the experience I was hoping for, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a decent place to stay."

"The rooms are neat and good. Good, clean toilets. Clean. Staff good. Alleppey beach is 5 minutes by walking. They provide complimentary breakfast. This beach home stay has 8 double ac rooms and a comfortable dining area. There's no restaurant, but one can order food of choice from alleppey restaurants through swiggy. Private car parking for about 3 cars available. The approach road of about 300m is a lane but not much traffic. Nearby several home stays. Though rooms are with mosquito netted windows, if you keep rooms and windows open, mosquitos can be a problem. Yet, we found this stay comfortable and good."

"Hotel situé dans un grand parc avec une belle piscine.Nous y somme allés pour déjeuner (grill beach restaurant loin de la plage malgré son nom)). Accueil très peu professionnel mais cuisine goûteuse.(malgré le fait que ce restaurant appelé grill ne servait aucun plat grillé).Interdiction lorsque vous venez déjeuner de l'extérieur de poser un pied sur la plage privée de l'hôtel meme si vous demandez à la voir..surprenant! Personnel dans l'ensemble pas très aimable."

Food in the homestay and houseboat is like homemade food. The homestay is surrounded by nature. We can also book the houseboat ride for some hours after reaching their house stay but overnight stay it is better to book prior. He will help us throughout process. He also helped us with booking our transportation from one place to another. 100% would be coming again. We also meet amazing people through Mr.Jose.
