Excellent emplacement. Au coeur du quartier de la vie nocturne et il dispose de plusieurs restaurants et bars attenants aux locaux

I had a lovely stay at Hotel Kazakhstan. The service was great, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and comfortable. The only downside was that the hotel was a bit crowded, probably because my stay was during the weekend. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

I arrived the hotel at 1300 and approach reception, the male staff just told me 1400 check in time.
I understand the hotel got it's own policy, but most other hotel will still try to check if any room available
as many client will check out early.
I am disappointed the staff doing nothing, no smile, no apology, no trying to check.

Breakfast is amazing. The rooms have stunning views.
The staff are somewhat helpful but their internal WhatsApp is terrible.

This iconic 26-story building, with its unmistakable Soviet-era architecture, stands tall in the heart of the city and offers some of the best panoramic views of the snow-capped Trans-Ili Alatau mountains. I stayed at this hotel, and without exaggeration, it was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
The bathroom had a serious leak — water was coming out from beneath the bathtub and flooding not only the bathroom but even part of the room. I reported the issue to the front desk, and a maintenance worker was sent. He removed the bathtub and turned on the water for less than 30 seconds before concluding that there was no problem, blaming it on how I used the shower. There was no proper inspection, no repair, and not even the courtesy of an apology.
To make matters worse, the door lock was broken. When I reported this, I was simply told, “It’s fine, the door auto-locks.” But it clearly wasn’t functioning properly, and I had to use my own portable safety lock to feel safe in the room.
One of the window panes was also cracked. For a hotel that is supposed to be among the most well-known in Kazakhstan, I was shocked by the lack of basic maintenance and responsibility. The technician who came only spoke Kazakh, and although I’m a foreigner, I made an effort to speak Russian — yet we still couldn’t communicate. Why wasn’t any staff member present to help translate or assist?
No one offered to change my room. No one showed any sense of responsibility. I paid a fair amount of money for this stay, but the service was completely unprofessional.
I would strongly advise solo travelers — or anyone who values safety and basic accountability — to avoid this hotel. I truly regret choosing it, and this experience left me with a very negative impression of my trip.

Fantastic breakfast with wide selection of pastry, nuts, cakes, salad and fruits. Good restaurants nearby. Housekeeping is spotty; some days are good but some days they forgot to replenish water and toiletries. Beds are old and saggy and needed to be replaced. Card keys needed to be revalidated everyday which is annoying.

outside look abit old but it is decent and good. good breakfast spread. Hotel is cheap overall.

The Kazakhstan hotel is centrally located. Metro station is within walking distance. But the room is outdated. Breakfast is good
