Van der Valk Theaterhotel Almelo

酒店稍微舊了點，但是整體很乾凈。早餐非常豐富，絕不虧待旅客。尤其那個户外的環境，很舒服。 服務員也很有禮貌。 酒店離科隆展館約3公里，叫Uber約15分鐘到達。或步行5分鐘到附近的輕軌站，還算方便的。

非常乾淨整潔，酒吧提供的酒水都不錯

This hotel is a little outdated and urgently needs some renovations. Despite this the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. When we arrived we followed the signs to the garage P5 because signs said that this was the garage for the hotel. This was true but the hotel also offered a free garage. So after checking in we had to change the garage and pay a fee of 50 Cents for 10 Minutes. Then we entered the other garage which was very narrow and realized that there was no elevator. So we had to carry the luggage upstairs over this very tiny stairway. I had better value for less money. But the breakfast is good. You need to try the omlette.

The hotel itself is good, breakfast is perfect, rooms are great but the check out system is the stupidest I have ever seen! You cannot get the invoice, earlier than actual check out and returning their plastic card. You have to spend your time in the queue on the day of check out, even if you have paid everything in advance during check in.

I’ve been here for more than six times so I’m more or less knows what ti expect from the hotel. The weather this time was surprisingly warm as some days were as warm as 31 degC. However the standard room which I stayed in doesn’t has air-conditioning. A fan was placed in the room and oh my god, the fan was rather noisy and shaky which seemed any time that it could disintegrate right before my eyes. However I chose to bear with the noise from the fan as either I sleep in my perspiration or I sleep with the noisy fan running. I was thinking to switch to the air-conditioned room in the new wing but was told that it’s fully booked. But I saw that all the rooms in the new wing had their windows opened and I suspected that the air-conditioning was switched off due to the high energy prices. A surprising thing for this visit was that the washed laundry was not sent to the room; instead the front desk called and asked me to collect them at the front desk. Never did I had such encounters at any 4-star rated hotels before. Another issue was that the side entrance area is currently undergoing renovations and they started as early as 0720 hrs during the weekdays! I was jolted out of my bed with the sharp and loud electrical saw in action right outside my balcony. Though the rooms were renovated, I’m afraid the level of service has dropped. My friend and I arrived at 1430 hours on Sunday but the front desk informed us that check-in is only available at 1500 hrs. The “hardware” was upgraded but the “software” has gotten worst in my opinion.

Customer service not good. I called reception to ask for an iron as there wasn’t one in my room and was told I could come and get one from reception if i wanted one - very typical ‘Dutch customer service’! No shampoo, conditioner, body lotion in my room, only soap. Breakfast was ok, nothing special.

I stayed at the Theaterhotel in Almelo during a business trip. The hotel is very lovely, the food was great and everyone was extremely friendly! The room was clean and spacious. The only downside: the bed was really soft and sort of sunken in. Overall, great stay!

This was recommended by a work colleague for me during a recent business trip. Everything about the hotel was quality. It all felt luxurious and comfortable at a very reasonable price. I caught the train from Schiphol to Almelo and the hotel is an easy15 minute walk from the station and just off the edge of the centre of town. This means that you are 2 minutes away from lots of good bars and restaurants and far enough away to gte a good nights sleep. Will definitely stay here again if I am back out here for either work or pleasure.
