This hotel enjoys a beautiful location next to the fine cathedral on a palmtree-fringed square. We had a superior room with terrace overlooking the square. The room was a good size with well equipped bathroom. Cathedral bells are paused between midnight and eight am! The breakfast buffet was good and service throughout was friendly and efficient. The hotel has a rooftop terrace with bar service from 4pm; our only complaint was the overloud music from that hour. Given that we were the only guests at that time, enjoying the peace of the surroundings, our request that the music be turned off was declined by the young girl on duty. Not so smart!

Nice hotel, they could have a better menu for dinner at night. Very limited. Hotel room large but no point having seating area when the tv does not point in that direction. Tv is basic and only Spanish tv, no international or apps like netflix or apple etc on it, expected better for a 4 star hotel. No USB points in the room. The large shower heads needs cleaned as it's full of water mould. I expected few bottled water in the fridge and not charged €2 each. Also expected extra bed pillows as 1 is not enough. The swimming pool is very small and would be classed as a dipping pool than a swimming one. Is the hotel value for money? Yes, but it could be a far better one if more attention to detail was done as above

The hotel is attractive and well placed. Breakfast staff were friendly. The hotel is more set up for locals with lunch or dinner requirements than staying guests, limited interaction/support from reception staff.

We stayed here for a fortnight and really can’t fault it. If you know it’s next to the Cathedral you must think there will be bells ringing so dont then complain about them. The staff were very helpful and our room was cleaned on a daily basis by very lovely housekeeping staff. The rooftop pool although small is an added bonus at the end of a hot day and the bar up there is very pleasant with views to the fortress. We were offered a change of room after a few days as we were there for so long but decided to remain in no 46 as it was such a huge lovely room. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Use the No 1 bus which goes round the old town if you want to get to the station where you can get buses to San Jose amongst other places. Overall a really good hotel.

Great location next to the Cathedral, high ceilings, lovely room, good service and facilities and loved the rooftop pool. It was also decent value and we also enjoyed the cafe with nice food and service.

Great location, everything within walking distance. Hotel was great, room was huge. Rooftop bar and pool a nice touch to spend an hour in the evening. Breakfast a tad chaotic, seems to be a staffing issue, but we got there in the end. Overall nice place.

We stayed here for (sadly) only one night on a stop-over drive from Malaga to Alicante. The hotel itself is in a beautiful traditional old looking building making this a very quaint experience. The rooms are huge (hard to find large rooms these days!) with a large bathroom to match. Wonderfully comfy super king bed made for a great night sleep. Very convenient location with walking distance to busy restaurant/bar areas in 4-5 minutes. There is also a rooftop pool overlooking the cathedral which is stunning. Quiet hotel, ideal for a weekend away.

Javier was exceptional he helped me finding a place to park my car he also did all possible to accommodate my diet challenges without him me and my family wouldn’t have not slept in this superb hotel. Thanks a lot

Great location and would use this hotel if visiting Almeria again- close by lots of restaurants/cafes/bars and the main sites. 4 stars/not 5 as no real lobby- just a bar/eating area that quickly fills-up. Also the room was a product of my pet grouse- the designer who had never actually thought about how the guests would use the room- the bed in another perfectly possible situation would made possible more sensible locations for other items of furniture - and a too complicated lighting system. As it was the furniture looked like a collection of random items placed in odd spots. Did not use the restaurant but had beers and coffees in the bar area. Staff responded quickly to a request for a shower mat so as to stop that being a death trap, and were helpful re a taxi to the station. The cathedral bells do ring frequently( but not in the middle of the night) and loudly, but you can close the window and use the a/c, or have the window open for fresh air and get used to them. Much appreciated that the hotel carried over our booking from Xmas when we were unable to visit due to Easyjet cancelling flights.
