Tout est pensé pour vous rendre agréable le séjour, de la bouteille de vin offerte, à la trousse de toilette, au psychiatre anti moustique, au dernier drink offert la veille de votre départ. Les gens qui y travaillent sont charmants, du jamais vu. Sans parler du spot de surf qui est juste là pour vous. J’ai été comblée de tout."

"Unfortunately, our stay was quite disappointing. When we arrived, there was no one at the reception, and we had to call the hotel to begin the check-in process. A few staff members arrived later, but the initial lack of assistance left a poor first impression. The Wi-Fi was extremely poor and barely connected throughout our stay. The restaurant was completely closed, so we had to go outside the property whenever we wanted food. There were also no clear instructions about the hotel's policies or amenities. Because of this, we were unexpectedly charged for water bottles we requested to our room, even though the hotel provides 1 liter of complimentary water per room per day. Better communication would have avoided this confusion. The biggest disappointment was the swimming pool. It was dirty, had a strong unpleasant smell, with visible algae and mosquitoes around it. After getting into the pool, I developed a skin rash, which was very concerning. The property itself has a lot of potential and looks beautiful, but it is clearly not being maintained well. With better maintenance, clearer communication, and improved guest services, it could offer a much better experience."

"Myself and my partner had the best stay at De Pearla resort. Farah the host was the best. He cooked us the most amazing meals, helped us with anything we needed assistance with and made our trip so special. He even showed us how to cook biriyani! My girlfriend became ill with a fever on one of the days and Farah went above and beyond to make sure that we were all ok and looked after. It really felt like we became part of the family. His son was also very helpful and kind to us. De Perla is a tranquil slice of Paradise that felt like a home away from home. It was always so amazing to come back to after a long day surfing and the craziness of Arugam Bay. We hope that we come back here again one day. Thank you Farah. We hope we meet again!"

"We looked forward to staying at Paper Moon. Our driver followed a sign to this hotel but travelling further saw a sign with 2 arrows pointing in opposite directions. Finally get to a gate with the Paper Moon board but no signs to reception. We called the contact number and were told we had to keep going down the driveway. Quite a few guys came running out and then disappeared. Nobody actually welcomed us and told us where we had to go. We eventually came to an open cafe area and quite a few guys just stood around not actually saying anything. No reception as such but the guy at the bar told us we were in the right place. We were given a welcome drink and they took our passports for check in but still didn’t tell us we had checked in. The rooms are individual units. Very simple but ok. The door doesn’t quite reach the ground which left me a bit nervous about creepy crawlies. The bathroom is huge but basic. No toiletries provided apart from a tiny cake of soap. The staff were mostly very friendly and helpful and provided whatever food we asked for but having all male staff just hanging around all the time was quite intimidating. Staff should probably also not hover around the tables as often and leave guests to enjoy their meals. The place is also the local bar so locals are constantly at the bar window for their alcohol. That also left us feeling a bit unsafe as there was a drunken fight one night. There’s nothing around this hotel so it would have to be on a full board basis. Luckily we had a car and driver and were able to check out local cafes. The place was clean. Probably not ideal for solo or young ladies travelling alone."

"Had a great and very relaxing week here. The cabanas are comfortable and stylish, all with great sea views. The beach is stunning and empty. Niaz and his team were very attentive and did everything to make us feel welcome. The grounds are constantly maintained and kept immaculate. The small restaurant served up great food, and always with a smile. Special mention to Rinos the chef and Bari here for their good service and friendly manner, the same goes for the rest of the staff. This is a place to come and relax, away from the hustle and bustle of Arugam Bay. Highly recommended. "

"We had an incredible stay at Wild Edge Panama safari lodge. We were very fortunate to have the owner Samitha, a wildlife biologist and filmmaker be our naturalist guide during our two-day safari. The lodge is in a lovely setting just behind the dunes. The rooms are basic and very comfortable, good bathrooms, good bed and very clean. Nice outdoor seating. The food was incredible. We booked full board and had an amazing sit down lunch brought out to the national park for us. Sam, Kanishka, Madhusan, the cooks and the team at Wild Edge took very good care of us. We have such special memories of our time there. Truly an unforgettable stay."

"Cet hôtel est magnifique et paisible, avec des bungalows disséminés sur plusieurs hectares et à proximité de la mer. Cependant, la baignade n'y est pas particulièrement sûre (absence de sauveteurs et mer agitée). La plage est déserte, sans bars ni restaurants. Le quartier le plus proche avec bars et restaurants se trouve à 20-25 minutes en tuk-tuk, pour environ 5 £ pour 3 personnes l'aller simple. À 4, il faut donc 2 tuk-tuks, soit 10 £ l'aller simple. L'hôtel est sécurisé par un portail et un agent de sécurité 24h/24 et 7j/7, ce qui est un atout indéniable. On a vraiment l'impression d'être en pleine nature. Les bungalows sont spacieux et nous avons subi quelques coupures de courant. Le Wi-Fi fonctionne uniquement dans les chambres, car il faut se connecter au réseau Wi-Fi individuel de chaque bungalow. Nous avions un petit jardin avec un bassin et une vue dégagée sur la mer. La climatisation était bruyante même éteinte (elle émettait un bourdonnement). Le personnel est très aimable dans tout l'hôtel, les portiers sont toujours souriants et le directeur veille constamment à ce que tout se passe bien. Cependant, je dois dire que le service au restaurant et au bar est extrêmement lent, et ce n'est pas dû à un manque de personnel, mais plutôt à un manque de formation. Cet endroit a un potentiel énorme ; un café ou un bar en journée lui serait très utile. C'était un bel endroit, mais il manquait d'ambiance et il était trop éloigné de tout. Je voyageais avec mon mari et mes deux adolescents de 16 et 18 ans. L'alternative serait de séjourner à Arugam Bay, mais les hôtels y sont plutôt fréquentés par des routards et j'imagine qu'ils sont assez bruyants la nuit."

"Le meilleur hôtel de la région. Nous y avons passé 2 semaines incroyables. Très bien situé, au calme, à 15 min en Tuk tuk seulement d'Arugam bay. Cadre magnifique au bord de l'océan. Chambres spacieuses Le restaurant est très bien avec une carte variée et des plats très bien préparés. "Beau 4-bedroom Villa située dans des terrains spacieux juste sur la rive de la mer; la taille du camping signifie que nous sommes profondément détruits par le personnel très attentif et amiable. Nous avons fait une promenade de matin sur la plage désertée avec les chiens résidents amiables avant le petit déjeuner chaque matin. Nous avons vu les pêcheurs locaux sortir dans leurs bateaux traditionnels et acheter de eux un peu de lard frais, que le chef a bien préparé pour notre déjeuner, délicieux. Le choix et la qualité de la nourriture étaient excellents, et nous avons apprécié de nous joindre au chef dans la cuisine pour une leçon de cuisine. La chambre était spacieuse et confortable, avec une vue spectaculaire sur la mer de notre balcon. Nous avons fait trois types de safari différents : un safari tuk-tuk, où nous avons vu des crocodilles à proximité et des éléphants; un safari de la lagune, où nous avons trouvé que nous étions sur l'eau très pacifique; et un safari jeep au parc national de Kumana, Nous avons été heureux de voir différents animaux, y compris les éléphants et un beau léopard. Ils ont été très agréables, mais ils ont été très agréables."

"Avis partagé sur cet hôtel : il est très bien situé, avec un accès direct sur la plage, peu fréquentée. Les extérieurs sont bien entretenus, le jardin est balayé et arrosé chaque jour, les transats privatifs sont disposés sous les arbres. Chaque chambre bénéficie d'une terrasse agrémentée de fauteuils en osier et d'un ventilateur, c'est là que nous avons passé le plus de temps. La partie chambre est assez sombre - les deux lampes de chevet ne fonctionnant pas. Pas de climatisation mais le ventilateur au plafond rafraichit bien. En revanche, la salle de bains n'invite guère à s'y prélasser. Toute la salle de bains est la douche : vous devez traverser la pièce (mouillée si vous avez pris une douche) pour aller sur les toilettes au fond. L'évier dans le coin est sale, le verre à dents dans le même état, on ne peut rien déposer nulle part, il n'y a aucun meuble à part la tablette au-dessus de l'évier. Le ménage n'a pas été fait dans notre chambre durant les deux jours passés dans cet hôtel. Mais c'est encore le restaurant qui réserve le plus de surprises : pas de set de table ou de nappe, les assiettes sont amenées avec vos couverts posés dessus, parfois enroulés d'une serviette en papier, mais j'ai reçu des spaghettis avec une simple fourchette posée dessus... On m'a repris une assiette qui ne m'était pas destinée pour la donner à la table d'à côté alors que j'avais déjà trempé mon couteau dans le sauce pour la goûter (j'ai cru que c'était une mise en bouche offerte). En résumé donc, lieu agréable et bien situé mais le service est vraiment à revoir."

"Great place to stay that is both close to Kumana National Park and has excellent guides to see wildlife. We are very glad we booked to stay at Wild Edge. Samitha was an excellent host and guide. Like the accommodation, their jeeps were comfortable - indeed the jeeps were well customised for photography as well for general viewing. I benefited from learning from Samitha’s vast experience in photography and videography. We saw a family of leopards and a sloth bear. After the second half-day safari we had a delicious fresh passion fruit juice at the hotel to cool down (it is probably the best passion fruit juice I’ve ever had!)."

"Nous étions quatre et avons passé un excellent séjour de deux nuits dans cet hôtel. La nourriture était délicieuse et nous tenons à remercier le chef, très sympathique. Le directeur, M. Priyantha Jayasooria, et son assistant, M. Anil, ont été très attentionnés et serviables. Le responsable de la restauration, M. Salinga Herath, et son équipe ont fait un travail remarquable au restaurant où nous avons pris tous nos repas. Nous avons également pu louer un 4x4 de safari avec guide/chauffeur, M. Shantha, par l'intermédiaire de l'hôtel et avons fait une très belle excursion en toute sécurité dans le parc national de Kumana.
