Lots to love, some not to love... The breakfast room is sun filled and on a busy corner where you can observe a constant ballet of cyclists and cars and pedestrians as they cross the canal. Dogs in baskets, children in passenger seats, men and women of all ages and all manner of dress. And the food? Pretty good. Hard boiled eggs, a magical coffee machine cranking out your choice of cappuccino, lattes, etc... some fruit, some hardboiled eggs, yogurt aplenty, cereal, rolls, toast, so-so pastries. The room is well tended by staff, it's a nice place to wake up. Upstairs, our room might be described as spartan. Good on function, short of niceties, super hot water (careful!) ... fairly quiet but not quite... voices in other rooms, the occasional flush of a toilet. Be prepared to tote your suitcase up steep stairs, no elevator. Maybe they offer help if asked? Front desk staff helpful and pleasant. Great location in a busy but not touristy street, lots of beautiful buildings in the neighborhood. It's right on a canal.
