We really enjoyed our stay at the Copper Whale Inn the first two days and the last day of our road trip in Alaska. We had two different rooms and they were both very clean and cozy. Great breakfast. Very service minded and helpful staff, easy to contact.

The people are wonderful, rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was amazing. I couldn’t find anything wrong with the place. We stayed in the Mermaid room and had a fantastic view of the inlet and the sunset, so outstanding. I will stay there again when going to Anchorage. Another note, we booked a tour with Salmon Berry before booking the room at the Inn and then found out that they were owned by the same woman. Salmon Berry was just as fantastic as the Inn. They are both very thoughtful to the needs and wants of travelers. You will not go wrong with this exceptional Inn!

We stayed in the Inlet View room at the Copper Whale Inn and it was great! Very comfortable, quiet, with great sunset views of the inlet in the evening! The breakfast was nice - help yourself to whatever you’d like. Our first morning there (we stayed 2 nights), nothing had been put out, so we had to do a little searching for things, but the next morning someone was there to make it a little easier. There are some steep narrow stairs to reach the room on the second level, which made it a little challenging carrying our luggage up (and down), but other than that, it was a pleasant experience. We even got to see a moose walking up the sidewalk from the Inlet View room window one morning!

I absolutely loved my stay at the Copper Whale. The historic feel was so cozy, and my view of the inlet was beautiful. My room was small, as expected with an older building, but it had everything I needed, including a coffee maker, fan, space heater and a really comfy bed. My room included a shared bathroom (two actually) in the hall, and while I was worried about sharing, it was always spotless and I was always able to get in when needed. Breakfast was serve yourself, and delicious. I enjoyed fresh fruit and juice, along with a bagel with cream cheese, lox and capers, a real treat! There were also pastries, fresh made hardboiled eggs, yogurt and instant oats. The hotel is also an easy walk to a bunch of great places to eat and attractions. I didn't have a car, but there was a parking lot really nearby, and a bike rental place right across the street. The hotel is downtown and there was some street noise, but I didn't find it to be a problem. I've stayed other locations downtown (newer places) that I found noisier. I could barely tell anyone else was in the hotel. I'd happily stay again. All the staff members were really friendly, and the cozy comfort of the Copper Whale was exactly what I needed for my five day stay!

They had a nice breakfast and people were pleasant, but don’t stay in garden room, it was super noisy, faces a noisy street. We asked them to avoid spraying or cleaning with fragrances, my wife is very allergic, they assured us they would not use fragrance in room, and when we walked in the hotel we were overwhelmed with the strong scent of pinesol. When we addressed the issue, manager didn’t seem to care, said they had to use it if patrons were dirty.

Charming little B&B in downtown Anchorage. We stayed two nights (one night on each end of our trip through Alaska) and were not disappointed. Rooms are small but comfortable. The day manager reached out via text before our arrival to make sure we had the check-in information. She even gave us great restaurant suggestions. Breakfast was good and the coffee plentiful. We would definitely stay there again.

This is such a charming place to stay in Anchorage. We stayed two days, went to Talkeetna for a night and then back to the Copper Whale for one last night. The beds are super comfortable. The beautiful decor is mostly by native Alaskans. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating. There is a substantial continental breakfast in the morning. There is a holding area for luggage if your flight home is after check out time, this is such a convenience! And the location is amazing - quick cab rides from the train station and the airport. Walking distance from great restaurants and shops. Why stay in a generic big box hotel when you can stay in this gem? Highly recommend! Special thanks to Lorena and Star for making our stay so wonderful.

A wonderful Inn to stay in Anchorage Alaska! Beautiful rooms with all the amenities you could need. Theme rooms based on the history of Anchorage. A fantastic breakfast included in a gorgeous room with a view. Friendly staff ! Lorene and Star are the best and can give you many great recommendations for you stay in Anchorage. The Inn is in downtown Anchorage

Great location. Comfortable bed. Bath needs attention to grout and caulking. Room was not ready for us at check in. Breakfast room has limited seating and limited selection of food. Did not find our stay up to the previous standards of this lovely inn and am unlikely to revisit.
