This hotel went WAY above expectations with customer service!! During our stay, we used the hotel's address to have medicine delivered from Walmart for our sick child. Needless to say, our next big Christmas order from Walmart accidentally shipped to the hotel instead of our home address. This staff went above and beyond to collect three separate shipment orders and get them shipped back to me as soon as possible. The communication from Brittany and Erik does not go unnoticed. I am truly appreciative of the kind gestures used to help with MY mistake. There are still good people in this world!! Thank you again!!

We stayed 4 days, Aug 30 - Sept 2. The man at the desk was not friendly in the least when we checked in. He didn't greet us or even make eye contact. He didn't seem happy to be working. Our room was never cleaned; we didn't get clean towels and the small trash cans were overflowing. The toilet handle was difficult to push and the toilet only flushed every other time time, so we had to remove the lid to manually flush. Every time we opened the door to our room, the security lock stuck in the locked position; it took a lot of finagling to get it back into "open" position so we could close the door. We wanted to sit on the back patio by the fire pits in the evenings, but the outdoor furniture had not been wiped off and there were bird droppings on the seats. We didn't eat in the Bistro because it was a bit pricey. The pillows were nice and fluffy. Overall, our room was quiet.

Our group reserved 5 rooms for three nights. Asked if we could use the lobby area to have pizzas delivered for supper. We were told that they preferred the Bistro area to be for the Bistro customers. After going out in the blizzard for supper- we returned to find one person in the Bistro area. Not very accommodating. Shocked at no lobby coffee or any food that didn't have to be purchased. (Walk over to Caseys) One compliment- the beds were very comfortable. Room was never cleaned during visit. If you don't want to serve coffee (free) you should replenish room coffee pods. With all the free hot breakfasts offered at hotels this was odd. Two of the days a small area provided muffins, some fruit and coffee. Almond milk only for cereal. I realize there were terrible winds and temperatures- but we were still guests there.

In Ames for a football game. Stayed the night here and was completely disappointed. I bought two rooms for myself and my parents. They complained just as fervently as I am. I have stayed at many Marriott properties and have never been so disappointed in a Courtyard. The bathroom was nasty. The shower had black mold growing around the shower pan. There was a lot of nasty hair in the shower from the previous guests. The beds were worn out. This place needs a retrofit and they do not deserve the Courtyard moniker. Recent guests have also complained about the nasty bathrooms. I was embarrassed. Lobby looks nice, this must be the only place the manager visits. Seriously look elsewhere.

Great hotel! Very clean and large rooms. Good location that is near several restaurants. There is some road construction as you enter the hotel area. We did mobile check in and didn’t have to interact with the front desk staff. Hotel looks very new or newly remodeled.

We went here for a work event all week. The room had mold in the shower , above the bed where a leak had occurred in the ceiling , mold all down the sides of the window , and mold all over the sill. The shower door was sagging as someone screwed it into a bed of mortar. The tv randomly turns off and pressing the “ok” button doesn’t stop it from occurring, and then it refuses to turn back on. The hotel gave us a different room, but similar issues. Mold in the handicapped room bath, mold around the window , and trash all under the bed. Seriously make some effort to properly maintain and clean your rooms. The heat and AC thermostat didn’t work in either room , forcing us to go out and buy additional blankets to stay warm . Just will never use this hotel again.

The front desk staff was not the most pleasant one I have ever experienced. The rooms were nice and clean with a comfortable bed. Easily accessible from I35 and lots of parking. I wish the Courtyards would offer coffee on 24/7 basis. Not many restaurants nearby.

When we arrived, the lone desk clerk was on the phone for a LONG time before attending to us. The room was mostly okay, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. There was in-room coffee, which was disgusting. Even if it had been good, there wasn't enough of it. I walked to the gas station less than two blocks away to get coffee because the Starbucks in the lobby didn't open until 7, and is, as always, overpriced. I did enjoy the brisk walk.

When staying at a hotel, you don’t expect to be awoken at midnight with someone literally walking into the room. But that is what happened on 5/13/22 when we stayed there. After a long trip driving, heading to pick up our son from college, we were looking forward to getting some rest. About midnight, we hear someone walking into our room. Door was definitely locked and only one key (ours) was issued. Person who walked in, left seconds after realizing there was a family sleeping in the room. Next morning, during checkout, I asked what happened. Apparently they had a situation and had security taking a walk through some rooms. They didn’t realize our room was occupied. So the lady offered to refund our one night stay. Now, on May 16 i received an email from L. Lanphier, hotel manager. She asked me to contact her. But the phone number provided was not in service. So i emailed her back and never heard from her again. Stuff happens. But in the hospitality business, you have to make it right. This hotel failed the night of our stay and after. It’s places like this that give Marriott brand a bad name.
