Appin Bay View

We again had the attic flat bedroom and enjoyed the space and views. Our host Mike was very welcoming and knows the area well. Breakfast cannot be faulted. The Asian breakfast was, for a Malaysian, delicious.

What a nice chap Mike is. The room was good, the breakfasts better!!. Talk about full Scottish, blimey. And the Thai special was loved by her indoors. Great views from the breakfast room over the bay. It's a fab spot as a base for a few days, we stayed so we could see the coos😁.

Mike was a superb host. He was friendly, welcoming, cooks great breakfasts including his own home-made yoghurt (and chilli sauce for the Vietnamese option), and went the second mile in booking us tables at local venues for dinner and even offering us a lift to one that was further away. We stayed in the top floor Eyrie room which was large, light, airy and comfortable with king size bed and spacious sitting area with Smart TV. It had a fridge for fresh milk for our tea/coffee, a cafetière of fresh coffee as well as sachets of instant and a wide selection of teas. There was a large en suite bathroom with huge bath and roomy separate shower. Not to mention the best view in Scotland (IMO) of Castle Stalker on its own tiny isle in Loch Linnhe. The guest house has a lovely breakfast room on the first floor with a balcony (same stunning view) which can be used throughout the day. It contains a fridge with beers/soft drinks/wine with an honesty box, the contents of which are donated to a Glasgow Cancer Centre. There is plentiful private parking and at the rear so the guest house is a wonderful extensive flowering meadow which, at the time of our stay in May, was rich in floral and insect life. Those with mobility problems should note that there is no lift and all accommodation and breakfast room are upstairs on first and second floors.

Cannot fault our 2 night stay at all. Booked for my partners 40th and Mike had a bottle of fizz chilling in our fridge, what a start! Mike is a brilliant, welcoming host. From check in to check out, he couldn’t do enough for us - even got us a dinner booking when the restaurant was quite full! What a spot he has, we had the top floor suite, and views to die for. The room we had was very well equipped & the comfiest bed. The breakfast had me beat, but a great choice & start to the day. Already planning the next visit

What a wonderful stay at Appin Bay View. The Eyrie room was absolutely amazing, the view is breathtaking and the room so cosy. Mike is a wonderful host, who makes you feel at ease first minute in the house. Also the breakfasts are amazing!! Would definitely come back if I have the chance, it was my best accommodation in my Scottish trip. Thanks a lot Mike for everything!!!

As Google won't let me do another review, here goes one at Trip Advisor. Best friend and I were 'repeat' guests at Mike's, with another friend this time, because we loved it here last year. Mike put us into Eyrie for pur stay. Fab room. He has again been the best host. As simple as that. Hands-on, welcoming (and yes, we got another duvet for the double bed 😁), with a wicked sense of humour and great stories to tell. We did not really want to leave. Plus, of course, rhe view. Unbeatable.
