Tatty, grubby common areas with dirty carpets and peeling wallpaper. The path down to the lake is too overgrown to get down there. Entrance is through a disused bar then some little rooms with mismatched old furniture to a small lobby area. Man behind the desk seemed surprised to see guests and gave us a key with no explanation as to where the room was or any other information. Room was spacious and clean but very old fashioned - we had a view of the lake which we had to pay 20 euros extra for on top of the 120 euro room rate which was way too high for the standard - it was the most expensive overnight stop of our 5 week tour and was the worst. Small flat pillow each and poor sound insulation which meant we were kept awake until 330 am by an elderly resident's radio. The restaurant was the best part of the stay - it is in a glass area overlooking the lake and is modern and contemporary. The food was amazing - really high standard but was spoilt by the total lack of ambience as we were the only ones dining apart from 2 elderly residents who stayed for a short time. Also the service was glacial. We were the first people in the restaurant and it took 75 mins for our first course and another hour for the other two courses. It is a shame that such a talented chef is working somewhere where he cannot be appreciated. This place could be amazing with its proximity to Rome, its food and position.

OK, let's not beat around the bush: this is the worst hotel I have stayed at for a very, very long time ! I was there for work, with a group of colleagues, and we ended up demanding a refund several days before we were due to leave because there were so many things wrong with this hotel. As soon as we arrived, the first issue arose: there was zero Wifi in the room I was given (even though we had emphasised before that we needed at least semi-decent Wifi for work). In order to get any kind of Wifi, I had to swap for a room without any air-con (bearing in mind that temperatures were - on some days - above 30 degrees C). So for minimal Wifi (between 1 and 2 bars), I now had to permanently leave my windows open throughout the night, so that I wouldn't wake up soaked in sweat in the mornings. Wifi throughout the hotel was a problem as well - there were hardly any areas where there was decent Wifi - I tried to make a Whatsapp voice call to my office in quite a few areas of the hotel and was usually cut off after about 10-20 seconds or so. Next issue: breakfast - first of all, the quality and selection of food available was very poor - in the bowl of fruit, there were frequently several fruits that were clearly rotting (which seems to indicate that none of the staff ever properly check). Also, whenever a guest is finished with their breakfast and leaves, it seems that none of the staff properly clean the tables afterwards - pretty much every breakfast I was down there, all the tables were still dirty and not properly laid with new cutlery. When I pointed this out to a member of staff, she just laughed at me and didn't do anything. Next issue - noise levels during the night: during several nights I was there, there was an unacceptable level of loud noise going on until the early morning hours - people shouting, partying, etc (at some point, it sounded like there were about 20-30 people or so in the room above me having a party until about 2am). Obviously, the fact that I had to keep my windows open because of the lack of air-con didn't help. Next issue - mould (or 'muffa' in Italian): in my bathroom there were clear signs of mould on the walls - because of all the other issues, I didn't even bother to tell the hotel about this. Finally - management & staff: First of all, I want to emphasise that there were some members of staff who were perfectly friendly (and almost seemed apologetic at times about the state of this hotel themselves). But some of the staff (at breakfast, for example), clearly did not give a s*** about the guests and did nothing at all to help. The manager - and I am guessing a lot of the flaws of the hotel and the staff attitude stem directly from him - was completely disinterested in any form of criticism (or anything else at all, really). He couldn't even be bothered to look up and acknowledge guests when they walked past reception and at some point, when my colleague wanted his room keys, basically just threw them at him. I stayed here for 3 nights in August along with a number of others on a language programme! Whilst my room wasn’t the best (air con non existent and no covering on my ground floor bathroom window 😮) the Villa with all its history was a captivating place to stay! The food was great and the pool area was a welcome and refreshing respite from the heat of extremely hot August days! The staff were lovely and very welcoming and special thanks to Julia for her very cheerful disposition! 👍👍

Une très belle demeure, une chambre claire et propre ...et une literie ROYALE! Une excellente situation pour prendre le bus qui vous mène à Villa Adriana ou à Rome, pour se rendre à pied à la Villa d'Este et à la Villa Gregoriana, ainsi que dans le centre ville. Enfin un propriétaire aux petits soins, qui s'exprime parfaitement en français...et pour finir un petit déjeuner de fruits frais et laitage avec un bon café...Un grand merci à Vincenzo, nous recommanderons son établissement sans hésiter.

The reception was professional, courteous and friendly. At the restaurant they have always been very attentive to my food problems. They always made changes to the dishes provided, bringing me real delicacies. The opportunities of the Spa are many. In the internal part there is the sauna, the frigidarium, the hammam, the swimming pool with multiple types of hydromassage and water beds for relaxation. In the structure they offer various types of massage. I did foot reflexology on the last day; I couldn't do the floating tub which recreates the Dead Sea experience. The three outdoor pools overlooking the Palazzo di Fiuggi have a temperature of 37 degrees and are exceptional. You can sit there chatting in hot water, sipping a gin and tonic and eating the local hot white pizza. Those at the bar, like all the hotel staff, are very good. We went with a tour operator from Vicenza and we also had a Yoga and Pilates course, given by competent people. The trip included a group and a professional guide who was part of the hotel and who took us on the path of San Benedetto. The walk did not have a religious motivation, but rather justified the 22 km covered in 2 days and produced the curiosity that places like this arouse. The rooms were very warm and clean. On New Year's Eve I would have expected music for all ages. I must say that as good as it was, I would like something different for New Year's Eve dinner.
