Des l’arrivée une frustration ; pas de places au restaurant de l’hôtel avant 21h alors qu’on est bien fatigués de notre journée et que l’on a aucune envie de sortir pour trouver un resto (le plus proche étant à plusieurs km de là). Bon ok, on tente de passer à autre chose ; direction la piscine. L’eau est glacée ! Est-il si difficile de chauffer au minimum l’eau pour avoir au moins 25/26 degrés ? Sidérant. Notons cependant un point positif du côté de la piscine ; il y a une multitude de petites choses gratuites à manger au bar (chips, quiches, verrines,…), initiative assez étonnante mais très sympathique, surtout pour les enfants. Avec un petit verre ça confère une ambiance apéro bien agréable, un bon point. Bon, on découvre les chambres. De prime à bord elles sont plutôt bien ; lit king size (+ canapé lit 1 place). La salle de bain est moderne et agréable. Pas d’eau offerte (…) et un mini frigo (avec uniquement de l’eau pétillante et payante bien sûr…) qui ne refroidit rien ou pas grand chose. Mais le gros défaut de la chambre, le soucis majeur de l’hôtel, est ailleurs ; une climatisation très peu (vraiment très peu) efficace ! Il fait très chaud dans les chambres et on transpire, c’est inconfortable et du coup, la nuit n’est pas agréable comme on le voudrait. Après plainte à la réception, nous avons reçu un petit ventilateur. Ça règle rien mais ça fait du bien quand même. Allez, direction le petit-déjeuner… bon, de ce côté là, pas grand chose à dire. Il y a du choix et les produits sont globalement de qualité. Je dirai même que c’est l’un des meilleurs que nous ayons eu sur la dizaine d’hôtels visites en Toscane. Autre point positif : le wifi fonctionne au top, c’est toujours ça de pris… Restait à tester le fameux restaurant qu’on nous a refusé le premier soir. Nous avons obtenu une place pour notre troisième (et dernier soir). En résulte une expérience globalement concluante. Les plats sont d’une qualité honorable et méritent la visite, bien que pas transcendants. Bref, au final, expérience mitigée avec des bons et moins bons points. Le gros bémol c’est la climatisation, indigne d’un quatre étoiles. Finalement, me direz-vous, tout doit être mis en regard du prix. Pour nous, ce n’était pas adéquat compte tenu des défauts majeurs soulevés supra. Lorsqu’on paye un tarif 4 étoiles et qu’il fait plus de 35 degrés, l’hôtel se doit d’avoir une climatisation fonctionnelle ! Je ne recommande donc pas l’établissement.

Structure dans le centre historique de Pienza, obtenue par un vieux monastère, service et accueil au sommet, il ne devrait être équipé que des chambres avec quelques accessoires de plus de 4 étoiles (kit courtoisie, C'est un endroit très charmant. Piscine avec vue magnifique, restaurant intérieur avec service et soins du client aux niveaux les plus élevés (bon pour tous les garçons et pour le propriétaire) même si elle est utilisée uniquement pour un aperitif, un petit-déjeuner fantastique avec de nombreux produits locaux. À retourner.

We stayed at the Castello di Relais in early September. To start off, the Hotel itself is a very interesting old building (like a castle) and the view you have atop the hill is fantastic. Getting to the Hotel requires you to drive up a dirt/gravel road, which is doable though. We booked a deluxe room (it was called Drago) and the room was decent, however, be aware that due to the old building there isn‘t a lot of natural light coming into the room. The bathroom was equipped with a hairdryer and also a cosmetic mirror. But all the things seemed old and could use a reinvestment. Also the shower was quite small and had some whitewhash on it. The staff at check in was friendly but seemed a little bit confused with our booking, but this could also have been due to the language barrier. The English of the staff is okay but they do prefer to speak Italian. We booked a romantic holiday package which included a dinner, a massage and one hour exclusive access to the spa. The massage was good and enjoyable. However, the Spa hour was an overstatement. Even though there is a Sauna and a steam room as well as an „emotional rainbow shower“ it wasn‘t such a great experience. The steam room was out of service and the sauna quite small (we weren’t able to both lay down so one person had to sit and the other one could lay down). The shower was also a bit of a let down as we couldn‘t adjust either the lighting or the temperature of the water. Furthermore most of the shower had quite a lot of whitewash. Furthermore there is also a room to relax, however this is also a bit small and features just two „outdoor“ lounge chairs and some tea and water. While the Spa wasn’t such a great experience, the dinner was outstanding. The food was exceptional and the staff friendly. Breakfast was also fine and even though the selection isn‘t too big it features a lot of Italian pastries and good coffee. All in all, the hotel is good but we felt it did not always live up to the luxury impression it provides online. The only things that made it really stand out were the view (which can also be had on the surrounding hills also accessible with a car) and the food (dinner is also available for non-hotel guests if you reserve in the restaurant).

Je conteste la direction pour justifier pourquoi le service était si mauvais. Le personnel est un problème, mais un bon hôtel fera une indemnité. Was a great experience. Rooms have so much character and charm. Need a lesson on how operate the coffee machine. It did not do so well. Loved Bianca the cat. Dinner was good but would have rather ate in the restaurant room(which I think was closed for the season) rather than the pool table room. Only issue was the doors are old and don’t fully close tight and smokers in the courtyard felt like they were in our room smoking. Great views and some much history of this place as it was originally built in 1263.

Cet hôtel est comme un petit manoir sans voiture, ne le réservez pas car il n'y a pas de transports en commun pour rejoindre l'hôtel. Il n'y a pas de restaurant. Nous sommes arrivés à 19h00. Comme nous n'avons pas réservé le dîner à l'hôtel à l'avance, nous ne pouvons conduire qu'en ville en contrebas de la montagne. La route la nuit est aussi très sombre... mais c'est bien d'être dans la nature. Il est bon d'aller le matin à la rencontre du faisan. Ce n'est pas mal de passer par le petit déjeuner sur la route. Ce n'est pas un week-end. Donc, personne n'a vu le personnel de service est une grand-mère et le personnel de la réception et du service. Donc en gros il n'y a pas de service dans la chambre, les chaussons jetables ne peuvent pas être équipés ni même passés au travers... Bref, c'est un petit manoir très calme. Si vous passez quelques jours en vacances pures pour profiter de la vie rurale italienne tranquille, vous pouvez l'envisager. Il y a des étoiles toute la nuit et un chaton passionné vous accompagne.
