I cannot begin to describe how awful this hotel is! When you arrive, the courtyard is filled with ****s and dead plants. As you enter the room, the eaves over the door are encrusted with filth, cobwebs and live spiders. The rooms is decrepit and dirty and smells as if someone recently died there! The toilet flushes only intermittently and the shower is virtually inoperable. You will receive a piece of soap the size of a US quarter. The floor in the bathroom has fungus creeping in from the walls, the shower is peeling and there is mold everywhere. There was no daily housekeeping. ENTER AT YOUR PERIL!!

I vehemently do not recommend anyone stay here. It was dirty, full of dust and cobwebs and worst of all, live spiders and beetles IN THE ROOM! Nothing was clean, the shower door did not close, the toilet gurgled constantly and I could hear EVERYTHING in the next room. The bed was a mattress on a wire frame that screeched and moaned with every movement. Out of fear of contamination, I was forced to sleep fully clothed. Unfortunately, as it is not winter, I had not packed gloves which I needed for protection. This place is a dump: beware!

Lovely pub idyllic setting, The Brocket Arms, serves lovey food and whilst busy, the service was great. The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us, they catered for a gluten Intolerance Can’t recommend it highly enough!!

Had a great walk around the village and stopped at this lovely country pub. Brocket beer is a must, great service and very friendly locals. Definitely worth a visit and gorgeous countryside so close to London.

Working away from Home, my firm put me in this place for one night. I pulled up outside and thought OMG where have they sent me!!!! Upon entering the pub/hotel I was greeted with a warm welcome from the bar person and 3 locals having a tipple. checked into my room which was a bit cold but it didn't take long to warm up. Entering the bar for my evening meal (which was lovely) again greeted with happy faces, Long story short I ended up having a fab time in a great place stooped with history. I got a bacon roll and coffee for grab and go breakfast, ready and waiting for me at the time I said I would be leaving.

We were a party of 9 for lunch. Everything was overcooked, hard and dry. My grandson had sausages that were so hard I had to cut them. We had been there after lockdown and it had been excellent. We would have complained but were pushed for time

If you are looking for a stay in an old inn in a tiny rural village, that has real ales a cozy log fire, extremely friendly and helpful staff, very chatty locals, good pub grub at reasonable prices and an excellent breakfast, then this is the place for you.

I love this place. We booked a room and I wasn't expecting very much for the price I paid but I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was spotlessly clean and it was very quiet there. We had a quick drink in the pub before retiring, the ales are great and locally brewed. Breakfast was a little late but we still managed to leave only a few minutes later than planned. The zoo was a surprise, loved seeing Meerkats and being able to get so close to them. I'd definitely return.

We spent our honeymoon here and it turned out to be everything we'd hoped for. Lots of people had recommended this hotel to us, and it certainly matched our expectations. The cuisine was fantastic, the ambience was wonderful, and every staff member was very helpful and pleasant. Thank you for making our special occasion even more memorable. I'm sure we'll be back.
