First of all, I didn't have the full hostel experience as I was there with a friend. Nevertheless, I can say that there were many small inconveniences that are simply impractical for a hostel and the travellers associated with it. The first impression from the outside was: nice, modern, lots of young people on the veranda, good location and friendly staff. The first inconvenience, however, was that we had to pay the full amount at check-in in cash. We had just arrived and therefore had no cash with us. Even if there was an ATM not far away, it was a bit of a hassle for us. We then had to leave a deposit for both room cards as my friend had booked the room for both of us. We would get the money back at check-out, but what should we do with the money then? Logically, we then leave Thailand and can no longer spend the money. We spent 5 nights in a room for four. The room was very small and barely had enough space for 4 people's luggage. It was relatively stuffy as there was no window. And without sounding like a spoilt brat, but the beds were rock hard. We wanted to do laundry, but when we asked at the loby, we were handed a piece of paper and told to indicate how much of each item that we wanted to wash. This confused us, as a sign said: Price per kg. If we had known this in advance, we would have counted our clothes privately in the room and certainly not in the lobby. It was just too inconvenient, so we decided not to do our laundry there. Lastly, another small inconvenience was that we had booked a tour where we would be picked up at 8:15. As there was a small coffee shop in the hostel, which is open from 8am-5pm, we thought we would get a coffee there at 8 o'clock. Although we were sitting there 10 minutes before 8 and the staff could see us, they didn't open the coffee shop. We tried to open the door at 8:03, so it was clear to all the staff there that we wanted a coffee. Nevertheless, they didn't let us in. They just looked at us and talked to each other. It would have been different if they had informed us or said something. But unfortunately, we were picked up at 8.15am without being given a coffee in our hostel despite that they should have been opened for 15 minutes. On the plus side, the bathroom on this floor was large and had plenty of showers and toilets, as you would expect from a hostel. There was a water refill station and a fridge on the ground floor. The rooftop was cute and there were lots of social activities which we didn't use but which are certainly great for socialising. Again, it was only small things but they added up, hence the 3 stars.
