Called in on my own for a quick lunch at 2.05pm . Opening hours show that cafe closes at 3pm every sat. Was turned away as the kitchen closed at 2pm. Felt they could have been more accommodating , usually a kitchen would close 30mins before closing .

This is without doubt an incredible location. Cool, welcoming and enthusiastic staff is the icing on the cake, the cake in this instance being the food. Presentation of said food was amazing and the taste of the dish I had (Chillie Eggs served on a sourdough base) was epic, a real fusion of tastes that hit the mark. My friend had Eggs in Purgatory and be assured he was equally as impressed. One of Bangors hidden gems which sparkles like a diamond thanks to getting the front of house staff and food combination just right.

Quiet, quaint, quirky, and quintessentially Bangoresque. This accommodation far exceeded my expectations during my two night stay. The room was spacious and stylish, and the proximity to both the beach and the town centre made it such a convenient platform for exploring Bangor. The veggie breakfast was incredible, and the staff there are so welcoming. I'd highly recommend a stay here.

We stayed here for 15 days early June. The weather was a bit off but we managed with the great welcome from the owners. We had a fantastic room looking out across the Irish Sea and watched the boats come and go. Read other reviews for breakfasts, they were amazing and tasty. There is plenty of parking at the rear of the property and very quiet. Some days there is a brunch restaurant downstairs but no bother. Thank you to the host and hostess for a wonderful restful time. Sorry about the accident on my pillow on our last night.

Great location. Perfect hosts where nothing is too much trouble to make your stay a relaxing and welcome one. Breakfast was amazing. Thank you Chris and Jenny Will most definitely stay again, hope to get sea view when I bring my niece and nephew next time x

Love the food, staff and chilled atmosphere, Chris & Jenny are lovely, you can have a walk along the beach also ' even though its nominated the dirtiest beach in the UK , which is a real shame, its only a 10 minute walk from Bangor (City) now, not at all a city but a run down town.

Chris and Jenny are lovely friendly hosts and provide a great place to stay for business or pleasure. Their charming guesthouse looks out directly over the beach and is safe, comfortable and traditional. They do such a lovely breakfast menu and know the area very well in terms of setting you up for evening dinners and daytime activities. Very helpful that they have parking at the back too. A really nice experience.

Beautiful place, I would love it to reach it's potential. We came in as a group of 3 'on holiday', we felt invisible for the majority of our visit, which upset me as in general customer service in NI or anywhere else in Ireland is amazing. The food was lovely when it arrived, and the waitress did notice that we hadn't eaten after nearly an hour. Tbf, they were busy, but although they did offer us a free coffee because of the staff shortages it just spoiled our day out as we had other things to do xx still a great place and setting xx food still incredible x

I just love this place - the quirky eclectic atmosphere and decor , the views , the proximity to the sailing club , the friendly staff , the beautiful spacious bedrooms with all comforts catered for including the supply of Voya seaweed products in the en-suites ! The place is spotless and caters for your every comfort ! Chris and Jenny could not be more welcoming yet hover in the background until you need them so you really do feel at home in their beautiful lodge ! I haven’t even started on the breakfast !!! Make sure not to rush it as this is the best breakfast in the land ! Make time to savour it before you start your day ! Ballyholme is 5 hours from where I live but the reward at the end of my long journey is this dream lodge ! Thank you Chris and Jenny for making the Cairn Bay what it is - a little bit of hotel heaven !
