Before I begin, I want to start off by how my mindset was going into this hostel that helped me have a positive experience. The first thing I recommend you have is realistic expectations. There could be 10-20 people in one room and no air conditioning with you getting zéro to no sleep. You could even get a staff work et who hasn’t had their coffee yet or the aménities aren’t up to your standards. Remember that you get what you paid for. It seemed the others staying in the hostel would handle these complications by communication, empathy and friendliness. From personal experience, this was my first hostel and first solo trip, so i had some réservations and frankly expectef to préparé for the worst. I had heard both good and bad about hostels and came in open minded. With that out of the way, i give this place 5 stars because I have been privilèges and lucky to experience one of the best trips in my life because of this hostel. Every was so insanely nice but also extremely authentic that I made memories with most everyone I met during the stay. The last but certainly not least, the staff here deserve an incredible raise for the great care and love they put into the atmosphère of the hostel, the travelers, but most importantly, each other. As an Àmerican, I hate when companies call their team a « family « and soubding so forced. So when I say, these staffers care about each other deeply, you can see it and feel it when they great you at the réception, ask the travelers about their day, or plan the weekly events. I have had a pleasure to meet Marit, Patricia, Maria, Ryan, and Léo during my stay. I am sure I have only met a fraction of the rest of the awesome staff. All I gotta say is, PAY THEM MORE QND GIVE EVERY STAFF A RAISE. It would be most deserving. All in all, it would be an understatement to say that I have made some Life long friends and memories I’ll cheridh forever at the London Backpackers hostel.
