Premier Inn Basingstoke West

No air con! Which might be OK for much of the year but in a summer heatwave the rooms were very very hot overnight and it was insufferable. One fan recycling some hot air but was pretty grim. We complained based on the ‘Good Sleep Guarantee’ but they’ve got the T&Cs nicely tied up to exclude hot weather and a lack of air conditioning.

Rats running in carpark on arrival alongside the windows on the premier inn. Receptionist said they were aware they had a pest management team looking into it !! Room sweltering hot room no temperature control available no air conditioning.. Did not feel safe to open Window due to Rat infestation outside window.

Can I just start by saying we are seasoned travellers and rarely complain or write negative reviews. We stayed at this hotel on a Saturday at the end of a two week cruise from Southampton as we were tired and had a 6 hour drive home. We thought a good nights sleep would be the safe and sensible thing to do. The hotel itself is fine however the noise from motorcycles racing around the hotel perimeter was horrendous. We were kept awake until 3:30 am! On discussion with the hotel staff on the morning of our departure we were informed that this happens every Friday and Saturday. Apparently there is a circular route around the hotel which attracts racing motorcycles. Reception stated that they have called police numerous times to no avail. On our return we contacted Guest relations under the 'good night sleep guarantee'. Despite numerous emails they still failed to issue a refund despite the fact that we were even more tired than the previous day quoting noise out of their control. Whilst I understand this, they should at least put a warning flag on this property to alert would be guests of the issues.. DO NOT stay at this hotel on a weekend unless you wish to have a night lacking sleep. We will NEVER stop at this hotel again. On another note, the restaurant was massively overbooked for breakfast with around 500 covers. The alternative to our 9:30 reservation was a breakfast tray to take back to the room!!!!! Despite the maitre D's help my wife had to go for breakfast at 07:00hrs in order to be seated. If I could give zero stars for this hotel, I would.

Clean hotel and very friendly staff. Even as a hotel with no air con the staff try everything they can to help. Handy having the Beefeater next door for a nice cold drink

Friendly staff. Comfortable rooms which are clean. Good location. Free parking on site which is always good these days

The worst Premier Inn ever! Dated decoration, no aircon, room facing main road, had to open the window as it is soo hot, too much noise, no sleep all night. Constant foot steps from the room above!! One tovel per room and one face towel!! No bottled water in room, no bottle water in restaurant, had to take a pint of water to the room. The only good thing was the bed but never will stay here again.
