I was excited to try this newly opened hotel and I was pleasantly surprised. Although there was a delay with the check-in (understandable cos it’s a weekend), from then on.. it was near perfect! First impression from the hotel staff were excellent. Even though it was a busy weekend, they remained professional and were able to attend to the needs of the guests. As for the rooms, it’s tastefully designed and the bed will assure you will have a good nights rest. As for amenities, they provided everything I needed.. A negative point would be the lackluster wifi, especially during the night and the hotel phone had issues. (May I suggest using a hotel WhatsApp system by scanning a QR code for essential engagement with guests, such as requesting for Ice, making spa arrangements etc.) I believe it has been implemented for in-room dining. As for the surroundings, it’s a 5 mins drive from Batam Centre Ferry Terminal, walking distance to One Batam Mall and the essential street food, Indomart and ATM just across the road making it really convenient. Overall, knowing that it’s still less than a month’s old, it has exceeded all my expectations and I hope to return soon. Thank you to the team at Grand Mercure Batam Centre for the pleasant experience.
