Premier Inn Bedford Town Centre

This Premier Inn needs some management attention as rooms quite shabby as few of us stayed on business trip here as some of us had to complain to resolve issues with rooms, Very nice breakfast buffet offered here as well worth the money for the food but not the room as we paid approx £145 for an overnight midweek stay here.

I am a fan of Premier Inns. The rooms are spacious and the beds big and comfortable. However, our experience over 3 nights at Riverside Bedford was way below their normal standard, very sub-par. It started on booking. We booked through the app. I contacted customer services to check to make sure the room was accessible for my wife's mobility issues. I was informed there would be an extra £14 to pay on arrival for this facility. As far as I am aware, disability legislation prohibits charging for accommodating disabled provision. While it is clear on the information, and so we were aware, that this hotel has no parking; it does not make reference to the fact that the hotel has no drop off availability and that access to the entrance is slightly problematic, depending on your mobility aid. On check-in, we got to our room and neither of the keycard would open the door. I went to reception and a new keycard was created. This did not work either. On the third attempt, the duty manager issued us with a generic card and so, nearly 45 minutes after arriving, we gained access to the room. There were a number of issues with the room that should have been picked up when the room was serviced, prior to our arrival, by the housekeeping staff - more trips down to reception!. Missing bedside lamp light bulb. The following morning, we discovered that the toilet was partially blocked and would not flush properly enough to clear solids and toilet tissue. Over 3 hours after reporting this hygiene / health issues, it had still not been fixed. On our return to the room several hours later, the flush was now working but there was immovable detritus in the bottom of the bowl. The shower head holder was missing leaving the showerhead only useable if hand held. This was not resolved. Staff should not be overheard complaining / confronting management in front of guests. Attention at breakfast was poor with for example, milk and fruit juices running out and it taking a long time to replenish and cooked breakfast items not being replenished (because the chef was more intent on complaining to (I assume) the duty manager about the number of people coming in to breakfast - in front of the customers waiting for her to get on with preparing some more. We will not be using this particular Premier Inn again!

Due to rail issues at Euston I ended up stranded in Bedford so this my rescue Ok it cost me but the alternative was not appealing either The hotel was clean and friendly the room was comfortable and the facilities were as I needed I would stay again if I neeed to

The whole team have been really helpful and kind they're so beneficial to my stay. REALLY ENJOY THE COOKED BREAKFAST and the new evening mela is so much better for choice. Really grateful and satisfied that I am being supported and looked after during my stay

No one on checking. Vary erie. Breakfast not worth 10.99. Over cooked..congealed beans. Couldn't eat it. Black pudding burnt to a crisp.sausages burnt couldn't cut them. Only decent part was nice bedroom and bath. And had soya milk as I'm allergic.

We stayed at this hotel before and it was okay. On this visit, we can't fault the staff, but the stench in the entrance, lift areas, and reception was overpowering. This is why we didn't book breakfast. From checking previous reviews.. this looks like a longstanding problem. It smells a bit like boiled cabbage... difficult to know what it is. The management needs to sort it out. The premier inn beds are smaller.. and not as comfortable as the hypnos mattresses. After staying at this Premier Inn several times, our stay this time was disappointing.
