Avis : Protea Hotel Benin City Select Emotan

Nice place to stay. Comfortable rooms. Wifi not so good in the room I had but no problem outside in the bar. Good conference facilities. Food was nice and freshly cooked. Overall I would certainly stay here again

It was an awesome experience travelling to benin after a long while, which I decided to stay in protea hotel benin for two days, 14- 16 of July 2023. On the second day of my stay a mobile police fully armed was on my door 304, knocked and asked If there's any problem I responded and said no, afterward he left, then I went to the bathroom to take my bath, at about five minutes I heard a bang on my door. I was terrified an out from the bathroom to know what's happening, getting to the door I saw it was the front desk officer Tega and a number of security men, asking me to open the door, i told them I was naked that I need a few minutes but they kept banging my door, I hurriedly put on my cloths, when I open the door I saw Tega and the armed security men asking me to come out of my room to the front desk, then I ask for what reason, he said I'm not supposed to be in this hotel, like seriously. Thought it was a joke or a prank, he walked away and came back with Mr Philip Mbulu, the financial controller on protea hotel Mr Philip came and was threatening me that i have to leave the hotel that anything can happen to me while I'm here, I asked him why is he embarrassing me and want me to check out from the hotle.. He said they are not comfortable with me staying in the hotel, that I have to be checked out, then I reminded him that I'm a Titanium Elit member of marriott, that he doesn't have the right to kick me of this properly, because I wasn't Constituting nuisance in the hotel. He said anything might happen to me while I'm here, and threatened if paraventure I died in the room that they won't be responsible. I was scared and I told him if anything happens to me while I'm here in benin City, he will be held responsible. Then he instructed that my light and water be cut off immediately. I called my lawyer to inform him of the way I have been humiliated and threatened by the management of protea hotel benin, he calmed me down that it might be a prank, luckily for me I have a visitor in my room that was recording us and it will serve as evidence when we get to court. Its been a week now, and there's no apologise or explanation to why I was embarrassed, now its done on me that it wasn't a prank, and they have other motives.

Stayed at the Protea in Benin City for a family wedding weekend and the staff really went above and beyond to ensure all of our needs were met. From bringing in a rollaway bed to our suite for our son, to ensuring we had enough towels and bottled water we were well taken care of. The buffet in the restaurant offered Nigerian delights and the staff was courteous and attentive. Would definitely stay here again our next visit to Benin City.
