We stayed one night at King’s Sanctuary – JLR and were pleasantly upgraded to the Maharaja package. Special thanks to the team for calling us when we lost our way—there’s a long no-network patch and Google Maps wasn’t reliable, so that call really helped. Check-in was smooth, and lunch was served immediately—local, simple flavors, neither too spicy nor oily. Our upgraded cottage, accessed via golf cart, was spacious with a living room, bedroom, balcony, and a comfortable roll-away bed for the third guest. The bathroom was clean, and the outdoor bathtub was a nice touch. However, the cottage showed visible signs of wear—cracked walls, old curtains, worn-out furniture, and gaps in doors that could let insects in. Fixtures worked but felt dated. The space deserves a much-needed upgrade to align with current expectations. The indoor games room also looked neglected—better to maintain it well or not offer it at all. Dining was a highlight. Dinner stood out, especially for the non-veg spread, and the vegetarian options were equally flavorful. Darshan and Darshan J at Golghar were warm and attentive. The dining area would benefit from better lighting, fans or ventilation, and mosquito control. The safari to Nagarhole was enjoyable—we saw elephants, gaurs, deer, and more. The 20 km stretch to the park gate is under repair and very bumpy, and the drive is quite fast—guests should be prepared. One binocular shared among all guests was limiting; ideally, one per group should be provided. Wi-Fi was patchy in rooms but stable at the dining area. The property manager shared that the resort is a great birdwatching spot, which we appreciated. Final Thoughts: A peaceful retreat with great food and hospitality. With better upkeep and room upgrades, it could be a truly standout jungle escape.

This was our second visit to this place. We enjoyed the bird watching safari. Did not spot many animals even in January month. Did not like the safari experience much, seemed like the driver was just rushing through the jungle. Driving was too fast and uncomfortable. The afternoon lunch was substandard at this price range. Evening snacks were over by the time we reached back. Thanks to the kitchen staff for providing milk for infant. Room bedsheet was having blood stains which was later changed by the room service. Even the mosquito repellant did not work. (See attached) The website mentions INR 6950/- per person tariff inclusive of taxes then why is 18% GST levied later ? Actual cost for 2 comes out to be INR 16402/- or USD 200/- Oh BTW, we paid a hefty fee of INR 1770/- for camera lens of 600mm but no bill was provided. Won't count this as a great experience !!

We stayed two nights and had a wonderful experience. Both safaris yielded sightings of deer, wild boar, wild dogs, elephants, bison, monkeys, langurs, turtles, owls, eagles, squirrels and a TIGER sipping at a water hole. Yashvanth, our Safari driver was persistent in watching and listening for any sound or movement that signalled an animal around. All the staff at the lodge were attentive and polite. Our room was clean, large and bright and the food served at all mealtimes was plentiful and delicious. Other activities included a bonfire whilst watching an informative wildlife movie of Nagarahole’s inhabitants. We truly enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I are avid Wildlife Enthusiasts, Birding Freaks and Nature Lovers. This was our first visit to Nagarhole together, and our first stay at JLR Kings Sanctuary as well. It was a splendid experience overall. Needless to say, the highlights of the stay were the Dining Experience and the Warmth of the Team's Hospitality. Food Quality was homely and lip smacking, with a great variety across meal periods. The team threw in all their efforts to ensure all Guests staying in-house were at their best of comfort levels. Whilst we checked in on a Friday, we did spill over to a busy weekend. Safaris were thrilling, as we were fortunate enough to spot 3 Tigers across 2-3 of our rides. The Monsoons bring in a different terrain and landscape altogether to the forest. All of the fauna were beautifully perched against a lush green bokeh! Weekends get crowded with limited Jeep Availability and the Safaris being overcrowded. The team accommodated us in, despite the situation - and we were utterly grateful. A special note to all Drivers at Kings Sanctuary - for their sharp multi-tasked ability to cautious driving and excellent spotting skills in the jungle. Kudos to Mr. Siddaraju, Vijay and the Team (Darshan, Lakshman, Yashwanth and the rest) for an absolutely unparalleled experience at Nagarhole!

JLR King Sanctuary in Nagarhole shares similarities with JLR in Bandipur and Kabini, yet boasts spacious rooms that even the standard ones feel like suites with a private portico walkway. The resort is perfect for a morning or evening stroll, with breakout areas such as a pool, hammock, and trampoline for both adults and kids. The friendly and kind staff provide excellent service, and the food spread for all three meals is delicious. The highlight of the stay is the safari, where we were fortunate to spot tigers on two different occasions, each time encountering a different tiger. We also had close encounters with elephants and wild dogs, and spotted various other wildlife such as deer, Gaur, wild boars, turtles, Serpent Eagles, hawks, monitor lizards, and birds. Overall, our stay was a pleasant experience, and we can't wait to return for another thrilling adventure.

My stay at JLR Kings Sanctuary was highlighted by Yeshwant's incredible safari expertise and Darshan's attentive service. Their dedication truly enhanced the experience. However, bad maintenance including the room's shoddy furniture, plumbing issues, and the presence of a rat were notable downsides. Despite these issues, the scenic jungle backdrop made for a memorable visit.

Set in all hues of greenery, the ambience beckons me. I visited JLR, Nagaraholae twice this April. Absolutely smiling and courteous staff and the general manager as well. Specially Mr. Darshan and Mr. Surendra. It is an ideal setting for a great getaway! Food gets a green flag as it is highly delectable. I happen to visit with my family and was quite lucky to sight 2 tigers on different days. The Maharaja cottage is spacious and clean. Outdoor activities are an add advantage. But, the cycles need hauling. To sum up, it is a neat package. Good job, JLR Nagaraholae. Keep it coming!

Its a jungle lodge so don't expect 5 star luxury. Staff are excellent and very helpful, esp Mr Darshan at the reception / Food area. We chose the Maharaja package, no regrets about that. Amenities are all good, AC in the bedroom but not in the ante-room, large bathroom, bathtub open to the sky. No Wifi, but very good Airtel signal for voice and data. Food is great and wholesome but not gourmet style. Rooms are spacious, well furnished, but need a little maintenance. Power takes some time to return - a few minutes, and this happens several times daily. Safari is great, with possibility of sighting many animals although Tiger may be elusive... You enter the Jungle almost immediately, but travel about 45 mins through the Jungle (public road) before branching off into a mud road into the jungle proper. So half the time is spent on the main road and not the interior jungle road. But animal sightings are common even on the public road.
