Premier Inn Birmingham Central Hagley Road

Amazing experience! Staff were so attentive and lovely, Rachel and Lucy!! Would definitely stay again. We came on a business trip with work and great value for money. Food was also very yummy and again great value for money. Service was quick.

I visited on my own and have mixed feelings about the hotel. On arrival the TGIF next door looks a complete eyesore as it is closed down, the car park was rough with lots of litter and several spaces had broken glass in them which looked worrying. Receptionist was very friendly and room was quiet so I had a good sleep both nights I was there. Shower gel had ran out and only the one towel in the room. One evening I went in the restaurant which was large but closed to the public with locks on the front door. There was around 10 people in there and there was just no atmosphere and only drink on tap was Guinness. Food was better than expected and the Meal Deal was great value. Had breakfast one morning and it was just ok. All staff were very friendly at the hotel.

We had five separate rooms and we all said how lovely the beds where. Stand out staff was Alan, 5☆ polite, chatty and helpful. Booking was easy and so was checkin and out. Huge free carpark and large bar/restaurant. We didn't eat as already made bookings in town.

Not too shabby. Clean room. Spacious with good facilities. Helpful staff with plenty of parking. Restaurant on site for guests only. Be aware it's hard to turn right at times coming from motorway. Regular bus service into city. Tram starts a mile away.

The hotel room was good as always, however the terrible part of the stay was they have closed the beefeater restaurant attached, which has always been the best beefeater meals, the hotel is now soleless, the meal selection they have are a choice of 4 microwave meals all currys and one fish and chips, taste badly and very poor quality, the breakfast on one day was good and freshly made, the second day was hours old warmed up bacon and the rest was cold, not fresh in any way what so ever, in my opinion so, so sad to see this hotel go down hill so quickly, feel sorry for the staff having to take so many complaints, the bar is also soleless and empty

Don’t want to leave overly negative review as the bed was comfy and the room had a window you could open(hate stuffy rooms even with aircon), but on arrival we were told they don’t do early check in even tho the website said they do(turns out they should). We weren’t as early as we thought otherwise this could have been a problem. Staff were friendly enough apart from the early check in thing, room needs so repairs, tap was hanging off in the sink and the bath one was wobbly, it did all work though. There seemed to be some kind of issue with the kitchen and general staffing, I’ve never stopped in a premier inn where the breakfast wasn’t a buffet, it was order to table and wasn’t nice, poached eggs were good, sausages were so undercooked they were wet in the middle. Bacon was just about done and the beans tasted like they had been reheated for a week, had to wait for someone to bring bread out just to make toast and I heard similar complaints from a few other tables, one lady told me the breakfast was horrible, if you ever read this thanks for the warning as I may have eaten undercooked meat without paying much attention, would have took photos or complained but we were pushed for time as had to travel back to relieve baby sitters and see to pets. This may be an understaffing issue? The young lady on reception seemed to be doing half a dozen different jobs, she was certainly no slouch so don’t want a review to reflect badly on her. Would we stop again, probably as it was comfy enough and cheap enough, but I certainly wouldn’t book breakfast!
