Although we only came to here to sleep over in the midst of January, we could tell the area of has-been mine city of Majdanpek (like Vrdnik in Vojvodina, for that matter) reinvented itself into ski and tourist place, tucked in between the surrounding hills. We could se tempting signs for eccursions and ski paths. The hotel offered us the apartment with 2 bedrooms, each of them equipped with huge flat screen TV and cute balcony. Spacious antre. Kind staff at the reception; the hotel bar is open til midnight and they even serve pancakes. Breakfast was royal in size and content: it was in fact brunch for miners (we couldn"t even eat all: eggs, salami, ham, toast and dour fough bread, 2 kinds of cheese, tomato, peppers...) and they even gave us fresh orange juice. Unfortunatelly we spent less than 12 hours there, but the tourist bureau there can really rely upon this old fashioned retreat-kind of a hotel, like from Yugoslavian golden age from seventies.
