Extraordinaire Hotel que je recommande sans réserve. Cet endroit a une âme, qui reflète l'âme écossaise. Chaque chambre a un aménagement différent, très soigné. L'hôtel est décoré et meublé avec grand soin et beaucoup de goût. Des tableaux de Picasso, de Bruegel, d'artistes contemporains ornent les salons, la salle à manger, les couloirs,... Prendre le thé vers 16 heures près du feu, au milieu des tapis, des meubles de bois foncés et des canapés fleuris est en soi un moment précieux. Le cadre est extraordinaire et l'équipe de très grande qualité. La cuisine est à l'avenant. Le buffet de petit déjeuner n'est pas immense mais tout est bon, bien choisi. Le pub propose des plats à un prix très raisonnables. lors de notre passage des instrumentistes jouaient de la musique écossaise. Bref, vous l'avez compris, je suis tombé amoureux du Fife Arms.

Le fife Arms est un hôtel unique en son genre et son charme vient aussi de la ville dans laquelle il se situe. L’hôtel est imposant et magnifique. Une invitation au rêve écossais. Tout y est agréable et accueillant. Le personnel est très sympas et disponible. La décoration est très particulière et inoubliable. Les chambres sont très variables mais la Scottish club est assez sûre et lumineuse si elle donne sur la rue. La Indian suite est comique car c’est à la fois un chef d’œuvre mais à la fois une chambre qui donne l’impression d’être chez sa grand mère. La reine Victoria peut surprendre dans la salle de bain si on se lève la nuit. Sa statue de cire dans les couleurs aussi d’ailleurs lol L’hôtel réunit vraiment tout de l’essence écossaise Son restaurant est très bon. Vraiment le fife arms est un hôtel à tester

Disons les choses clairement, le Fife Arms est à déconseiller aux amateurs d’hôtels de luxe “grand public”. Si vous n’êtes pas amateur d’art et plus attaché aux amenities de votre salle de bain qu’à un Bruegel ou un Picasso, alors passez votre chemin. Le Fife Arms est plus qu’un hôtel, c’est un “way of life”! Pas de piscine (donc pas de string, ni tatouages sur les fesses!!!), pas de salle de sport, toute l’activité est celle que vous pourrez expérimenter dans les Highlands (pêche, balades à vélo ou à pieds, chasse, golf, pic nic, etc..). Au retour, feu de cheminée et galerie d’art, dégustation de whisky après dîner. Au Fife Arms, on se couche fatigué et heureux! À bon entendeur…

Arrived at 12:15 pm (had not reserved a table for two) Told we could have a table but we're required to be away by 1.15pm. We were happy with that and ordered the beef cheek pie and the smoked haddock fish cake.At 12.45pm the waitress came to apologize that she had made a mistake with the order for the fish cake and that there would be a delay in our meal. Suddenly there was no rush for us to leave! During our wait we did notice that several customers arrived,also not having reserved a table, and were allocated a table without any fuss! Food arrived at 1 pm and the pie was extremely disappointing. The beef was dry and stuck to the dish and the pastry had flopped (probably due to the wait for the fish cake) I pointed this out to the waitress and some gravy was brought to me (I don't think that "Bisto" does a good Guinness infused variety!) I was given an apology for the pie and told that the cost of the pie £22 would be removed from my bill. On paying the bill I had to point out that the money had in fact not been removed! Another apology and it was then removed after having to highlight it. We were both extremely disappointed in the whole experience at what we thought would be an enjoyable lunch.

Hiya, this is a special place to discover. We would have stayed longer because the hiking is one of the kind with paths along crystal clear rivers, the Scottish bath experience with the local nature guide is a must do. The classic hotel comfort brings you back in time. The restaurants are very good. The service is top. Even the drive to Braemar through the Cairngorms National Park is stunning. We would be back.

Been to the Fife Arms previously and enjoyed the experience, however, was a little disappointed this time. Food seemed expensive for what we had and felt a bit rushed. Saving grace was the " more senior" member of staff who made us feel at home. Younger staff seemed a bit to keen to "upsell" the wine.

We stayed a night recently ( on burns night during the snow gates closing which was fun). Great welcome, hotel room was amazing, welcome drinks in room, great attention to detail on rooms. The art tour was amazing and we got to know a few people as a result. Food was great (lunch and dinner) and breakfast was delightful - lovely snowy view of the river. Bertie’s is excellent and a must see. Treatments were great at the spa. This is my new favourite hotel, I didn’t want to leave.

I was recommended to visit The Fife Inn in Braemar by a former receptionist. They have some extremely expensive painting hanging on the walls including a Picasso. Had a lovely lunch and enjoyed the old world charm, good food and the Scottish welcome and got to admire their art works.

If you are looking for an unforgotten afternoon tea, this isn’t it. The stale bread and tasteless fillings are a culinary Time Machine, transporting you back to last week when they should have been eaten. I had hoped the sweets might redeem this tea disaster, but alas the dry cakes were as uninspiring as the rest of the spread.
