Rats in restaurant On arrival the hotel is really beautiful - a small oasis tucked away with gorgeous colonial style. The reception staff were really lovely and made us feel welcome. The room was really nice - but there were a few things we noticed (which we let slide at the start) - massive dirty lipstick mark on one of our water glasses, filthy lampshades above the bathroom sinks, bed linen that didn’t feel particularly fresh and the robes as well had a slight greyish colour rather than bright white which they were meant to be. These were all minor things at the start which we didn’t even mention to each other but did notice. We then had our first night at the cocktail bar where our drink was served by the lovely barman (very polite and smily) - as we were drinking we saw a huge rat run across the terrace - we decided it was an island and maybe this is normal (although we really weren’t happy about it). We then were dining within the restaurant and again a huge rat was running towards the table. For us, this is not ok. We asked to move tables as we saw a rat and the waiters barely acknowledged it - didn’t offer any apology and then proceeded to avoid our table for the rest of the night. We informed the manager the next day who assured us he was aware and the rat had been caught, and to “give it a chance”. We weren’t offered so much as a complimentary drink. After dining in the restaurant again the second night and again seeing a rat - for us it was time to check out. Not only is it unpleasant seeing rodents running around while eating but I would say it’s a hygiene issue and makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen and the safety of the food. The only concession we were offered was to not pay for the remaining nights that we would not be staying for. Really disappointing. On hindsight some things we would add about the whole experience: - Not a 5 star in terms of food, service or cleanliness - Staff really hit and miss - some very friendly some really rude and unhelpful - Rooms didn’t feel clean - Food was average - nothing felt fresh including breakfast - Quite stingey with water - water not replaced within our room (had to ask for it) We are now staying at a different hotel and haven’t seen one rat, so don’t think this is “just an island thing” as the manager stated. The service and food are also worlds apart which has really solidified that our review of 20 degres sud as completely justified - not a 5 star experience whatsoever.

Un hôtel très confortable et joliment décoré sur une plage tranquille, sans foule. Nous avions peur des vents sur la côte est, mais tout n'est pas si effrayant, la piscine nous sauve. Petits déjeuners sans buffet, joliment servis, assez variés pour une semaine. Le lit et les oreillers sont merveilleux. Cosmétiques naturels. J'ai été agréablement surpris par la présence de crème solaire au bord de la piscine. Des activités nautiques sont proposées gratuitement (kayak, snorkeling, etc.). De manière générale, s'il n'y a pas besoin de faire des visites touristiques, nous le recommandons.

The service at the hotel is 7 stars. Especially the food and beverage department - Deven, Kiran, and Ganesh went out of their way to accommodate our 10 year old Down syndrome boy. Jay for the beach area was also excellent. Manoj and Antish from the front office did their level best to resolve our concerns and address our needs. But the hotel itself is more like a 4 star. Pool is not heated. The entertainment at night is very boring and lifeless. The kids club is also lifeless and not interactive at all. The personnel just sit and watch your kid. No interaction at all.

It’s a little adventurous to get here (only possible with own car or their van on request). But the views from their restaurant and rooms are extremely stunning!!!! The service is a bit slow and if there is something or you need something you have to call the reception with your own phone. Also, wifi connectivity can vary depending on the weather up there. Be aware, no kids allowed and the terrain is difficult for people who have difficulty with walking. At the end of the day you come here for the paradise view, which is just mesmerizing!

La suite avec piscine de l'hôtel est grande et confortable, située dans un quartier calme de l'hôtel. Elle est conçue pour les couples et les anniversaires. Ce type de chambre n'est pas disponible pour les familles avec enfants, veuillez donc réserver avec prudence. Le meilleur restaurant Jade de l'hôtel se trouve également dans cette zone et propose un petit-déjeuner exclusif aux clients de la région. Il est situé à l'extérieur, face à la mer, avec une atmosphère agréable, ce qui augmente l'appétit et évite la foule dans le restaurant buffet du hall. Le seul regret est que cette zone ne soit pas le meilleur endroit pour admirer le coucher de soleil. Le séjour a été globalement satisfaisant et le personnel de service était très chaleureux et sympathique. Les activités nautiques gratuites dans l'hôtel sont limitées, et on vous informera souvent que le vent et les vagues sont trop forts et ne conviennent pas ; cependant, il n'y a pas de telles restrictions pour les activités payantes. L'hôtel invite également ses clients à assister à des cocktails gratuits, où ils pourront profiter du coucher de soleil et boire du vin, ce qui est très relaxant et agréable.

L'hôtel se trouve à environ une heure de route de l'aéroport. Il est vaste, avec une longue plage et une vue magnifique sur la mer. La chambre et la salle de bain sont spacieuses et impeccables. L'hôtel compte quatre restaurants, chacun avec son propre caractère. Le dîner était inclus dans le prix de ma chambre, et je pouvais choisir celui que je voulais, ce qui était très pratique.

I had a great stay at Royal Green Resort. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The location is good if you have a car — about 57 minutes from the airport by car. I would like to thank Vedhna in particular; she was professional and very kind in all her interactions with me.
