Location was good (but the CBD is very small, so I would think this would be true of almost any hotel in the CBD). I was let down by the service and communication between the hotel teams:
1. I dropped off bags prior to checking in and was told it would be delivered to my room by the time I arrived. This was reiterated by the front desk when I checked in. The bags were not in the room but were brought up when we called for them. Fun fact - there is no phone in the room beside the bed or at the desk. The only phone is next to the toilet.
2. The toilet cistern stopped working (failed to fill up) in the middle of the night. I called down at 9:15 and was told that maintenance started work only at 9:30 and would be right up. By 9:50, nobody had turned up, so we called the front desk again, and when asking for the name of the person I was talking to, I got a very defensive "Why do you need to know? Why do you think I would not deliver the message? Maintenance is delayed, it's not my fault." Not what I expect from a hotel of this caliber. I don't need to know it's "not your fault", I would like accountability and follow-up. Maintenance did turn up a little after 10 and fixed it within a few minutes (was a problem at the mains).
Would not stay here again. There are better options at this price range.
