Loc Super convenient location on the corner of Jephson St and Sherwood Rd, with the popular Toowong Village Shopping Centre, a 10 minute walk away. The Toowong railway station can be accessed directly from the shopping centre. There are plenty of buses trundling up and down Sherwood Rd heading in various directions to the city or to the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre further south. The nearest ferry terminal is Regatta, less than a km away, but at the time of writing it is still under repair following last year's floods. Room We found the room to be clean, comfortable and spacious, with a large king bed, two bedside tables, each with a drawer and a lamp, a TV on the wall, and a handy desk for working at. On the balcony, was a small table and two chairs. There were plenty of power points to charge appliances and the downlights were strong enough for easy reading. The stylish touch lamp on the desk and standing lamp in the corner were useful for extra illumination. There was a hanging rail with about eight hangers. There were two sets of two drawers, one underneath the hanging rail and the safe, with one larger set underneath the TV. They were reasonably sized, but being virtually on the floor, they were super inconvenient to access. I can’t understand why the designers didn’t think of this, because it’s extra difficult to get down so low, especially if you’re a bit older, or with knee problems. Also in the room was a safe but that too required bending down. On top of the safe and below the hanging rail was a shelf to store one suitcase. The tea and coffee making facilities were also very difficult to access as they were rammed into a little shelf snuck between the drawers and the desk-top. The room though was quiet, being at the back of the property and therefore not facing directly onto either Jephson Street or Sherwood Rd, both busy roads. One could hear some noise from within the hotel as people walked up and down the corridor, but it was a minor inconvenience and most fellow guests seemed friendly and well behaved. There wasn’t much of a view, and the room just looked out onto the sprawling next door apartment complex, and to the right between the trees we could see Jephson Street, and the traffic going up and down, but the sound didn’t carry into the bedroom if the balcony door was kept closed. Bathroom The bathroom was not an en-suite, being situated in the passageway, between the front door and the bed. That was just as well, as it had a sliding door, which is never great for privacy, although it could be locked. But the bathroom was modern and stylish, and the water pressure in the shower was strong. A transparent glass wall separated the bathroom from the bedroom, which shocked me when I first saw it. I immediately phoned the reception to tell them that we needed another room due to the lack of bathroom privacy. But luckily, as reception pointed out to me, the glass has an inbuilt feature which, at the flick of a switch could turn i

This is the first time I have walked into a hotel room/suite and FaceTimed people before unpacking. Our stay continued to get better and better, from the convenience of the hotel's location, the super friendly greeting on arrival, to the experience of walking into our suite and seeing the breathtaking views and impressive layout. Our immediate response was to kick ourselves for not having booked extra nights, but we are already planning our next stay here. Perfect for visiting Suncorp Stadium and Caxton Street, but the Milton markets are a must see along with the surrounding artisan coffee shops and eateries. The convenience of Milton Station takes the location to another level. Highly recommend!

We stayed here the night before leaving on a cruise that was leaving from the International Cruise Terminal. The main reason we chose this hotel was its close proximity to Roma Street Station as we caught the train from the airport. While it is close to the train station it is located at the top of a reasonable hill and it took a bit of effort to navigate the way to the top, apart from the effort. Several escalators/lifts and then a steep path with no real directions on which way to go. I thought I would be able to see the hotel to give me an idea which way but had to resort to Google Maps to find the way. Unfortunately we were on an early flight into Brisbane so as it was 09:30AM I was not expecting our room to be ready but just needed to store our bags so we good do some exploring. As expected, our room was not ready but the guy behind the counter checked me in, stored our bags and advised that the hotel was busy and our room would not be ready until about 02:00PM. No worries we will be back. We arrived back at 01:00PM and our room was still not ready and waited in the foyer till 02:00PM as previously discussed. Reception gave me our keys and we proceeded to our room on Level 1, or so I thought……..room card would not let me use the lift. Back to reception to have the card re-coded. On entry to our room, it was reasonably spacious and looked clean and reasonably comfortable. Décor a bit dated, but functional. We had a rather large balcony but we could not use it as there was no furniture so the balcony was wasted. Bathroom was small but functional, bit dated but appeared clean. It was only after we used the toilet several times that we noticed water on the floor. We ignored it for quite a while as we thought we had spilt water on the floor but it was not till the next morning that I realised it was coming from under the toilet. I reported it to reception on checkout. As we were tired from our early start we chose to order room service. While we knew how much it was going to cost it was very expensive. Two hamburgers and chips over $70. A bit steep, but as we were so tired we paid so we did not have to go out. The hamburgers were good by the way, but still way too expensive. Overall, this hotel was OK, but the room was supposed to be a superior room. OK. I would hate to be in a Standard Room………..as the room was pretty average for a Superior. After reading some of the other reviews the price we paid was fair and the location is good, just not when you have to push two big suitcases that we were taking on a cruise up the hill from the station. PS. It cost us $73 in the taxi to get to the Cruise Terminal.

Booked 2 bedroom apartment but was given 3 bedrooms instead. King size bed and single bedded rooms have windows, queen size bed without windows. All rooms have air conditioning. Room allocated didnt have a proper dining area, had 3 bar chairs with a small area. Took turns to have our meals. Sofa was great with recliners but too small for family of 4. Bread toaster and all appliances were clean and in order. Short walk to Botanic gardens, Queen Street mall and we were able to walk to South Bank. Free Cityhopper ferries at Riverside Terminal which is within walking distance too. Encountered an usual foggy morning and a fascinating view!
Overall a great stay!

Formidable
IInvitéWhilst our stay in the Hotel X Suite was pleasant, there was nothing memorable about it. The suite was spacious, fitted with modern conveniences (ie. electric blockout curtains, Dyson hairdryer, zip tap and smart tv) and was generally comfortable. Unfortunately, the bathroom lacked privacy as it overlooked the street and directly faced another building across the road so the blinds were always drawn preventing natural light from coming in. Also, there is no separate toilet with lockable door. Although, the toiletries were nice and the shower quite spacious. Service was friendly but lacked a personal touch. Breakfast at Bisou Bisou had a limited menu but the food was overall good. The rooftop bar (Iris) had great views, a good tapas menu and relaxing vibe. The location of the hotel is convenient, within walking distance of the buzzing James Street precinct and a short car ride to the city centre.
IInvitéGood stay at the Westin. Clean, comfortable, modern room and good service at reception. Well located. Just a couple of minor negatives: 1. The pool was extremely busy on the Saturday because the hotel sells tickets to the public for a pool party event (I believe happens every Friday and Saturday). All the loungers and seats were taken and there were no clean towels available - not ok if you're actually staying at the hotel but can't use the pool facility. It was quiet and pleasant on other days, however there is no service around the pool that we saw so I'm not sure whether you can order food/drink poolside. 2. The buffet breakfast was generally very good in terms of selection, food quality and ambience however we stayed over the Easter long weekend and the service was noticeably lacking - many of the food items had run out and we had to wait multiple times and for long periods for them to be replenished. Also we were not offered tea/coffee or told there was a choice of eggs to order until our last day (ie. after the long weekend) so were left with the dregs of cold scrambled eggs and self service hot drinks. Other than that, we were happy with our stay and would go back if ever in Brisbane again.
