We recently had the pleasure of staying at Mudgee Homestead, located a short drive from the town centre, which was a highlight of our trip. There was eight in my party, travelling together for the first time, so I felt some anticipation not having stayed previously. Sometimes what you see is not always what you get, so I am very pleased to say that what you see on the website is exactly what you get… only BETTER!. From the minute we were greeted by Karen, (one of the owners), we knew we were in great hands. Karen is warm, classy, and welcoming, and makes you feel at home instantly, without feeling like you are staying in someone else’s house. The delicious breakfast selection on offer was different each day, freshly prepared, cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. The meticulous detail of the table décor, and matching fresh flower arrangements did not go unnoticed, and afternoon tea was next level delicious. To explore the beautiful Mudgee region, (including cellar doors located within a few minutes’ drive), or to sit and relax in the private lounge or stunning veranda, is the most taxing decision you will need to make during your stay. The property has been very well thought out with the guests comfort in mind, with Karen and Sean residing close by, making your stay feel private but not isolated, a perfect balance. The property itself is magnificent, perched high up on a hill that can be seen from many cellar doors, boasting spectacular views from the wrap around veranda, and containing many special period features throughout this magnificent home. The warmth, connection and genuine hospitality Karen and Sean share is a real credit to them both, and two more well suited hosts you could not hope to find! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and were taken such good care of that it was hard to leave. Suffice to say we have already made our next booking!.
