The hotel is in a good location, the staff at check in were friendly and very efficient, and there is parking nearby that is reasonably priced. The room was clean but it was SO dark, even with all the lights on. We didn’t ask to move rooms because we could see the whole building was surrounded closely by other buildings so they all looked to be dark. It was also the most dated Premier Inn I’ve stayed at. It was clean and served its purpose, but little things like paint peeling off the wall in the bathroom or putting in more lights seem like easy touches to make it better. The bathroom was dated, I can’t remember the last time I stayed in a hotel that had such an old style bath/shower. I feel that shower curtains are unhygienic. The toilet seat was one of those cheap plastic ones that cuts in to you, paired with the one-sheet toilet paper in a plastic dispenser I felt like I was back in school every time I went to the loo! And the bed is waaaay too soft so wasn’t comfortable. There was nothing when making the booking saying you needed to bring any documents when checking in. I called the hotel to be sure beforehand, as I didn’t want to turn up and not have what they needed. They said I didn’t need anything. When I mentioned my husband wasn’t from the UK, they said he would need some form of photo ID, which isn’t a problem but if that’s needed it should be mentioned when booking (or when you ask without needing to specify what country we are from). In the end when we checking in no one asked for anything anyway.
