Kelly Creek is right next to the entrance to the National Park, at the end of the Main Street of Cahuita. It is behind a fence and tropical plants so it is quite secluded from the hustle and bustle. There are four rooms in one building and a suite in another. We looked at both options and chose Room #3, which looks out through the trees to the ocean. The adjacent room also looks out on the ocean but the two rooms behind do not. Ask for one of the ocean view rooms if you can. The suite does not have as nice of an ocean view. As the title says, Kelly Creek no longer includes a breakfast. That said, you are within a short walking distance of everything and can go for coffee just down the street as early as 6:30am, The owner Erica is European and is very pleasant. She will give you restaurant recommendations, including Las Olas and Le Jardin. There was a troop of white-faced monkeys that seemed to show up at the hotel every day at 4pm to play in the trees and on the roof. We also saw a sloth and a family of agoutis on the property, The walk through Cahuita NP is fabulous. Highlights were the beach at Punta Vargas and the mile-long boardwalk through the primary forest at the end of the 5 mile hike. You can take a bus from there back to town (hourly?) or a waiting “taxi” for 4000 colonnes. Suggest bringing your own soap/shampoo and bug spray.
