We stayed at La Cascina the house attached to Borgo Badia Hotel, we stayed one week. They run it as run as a villa rental. It was fine but it was quite run down, not a practical choice for young kids as there is glass tables everywhere and extremely unsafe staircase for small people. They didn’t offer any little touches that make the stay warmer like leaving bottled water in the fridge. The house was empty of really any supplies apart from a small amount of washing up liquid and a tiny pot of coffee grains. Not even a little pot of salt & pepper and oil. The kitchen supplies were also very limited they have only a hob, microwave and one very small percolator to make one very small cup of coffee. The crockery was limited so we couldn’t use the dishwasher as there was too little glassware & cutlery for multiple meals per day. So we just had to wash as we went. Black mould on the back of the sink. The place just needs some work. The dial on the washing machine was broken so it was very difficult to know what setting to use and to move it. A stair gate or some practical way of keeping our kids safer in their house would have made our stay a-lot more relaxing. Offering a cot given we were four adults and 2x children (1x 11 month Baby and toddler 2 years old) would have been a nice touch. It is just a bit shabby, the glass had cracks in the downstairs window, the sofa had a tear. The mosquito nets on the windows all had little tears. There is a big leak outside from air conditioning leaking so the mosquitoes were really bad in the morning making it impossible to eat outside. We felt it was very overpriced for what was on offer. There is an enclosed garden, you cross the quiet road to get to their beautiful pool. The bathrooms were clean and beds too. It was fine just not quite what we were hoping for.
