The Manor House Hotel and Golf Club

Just returned from my couple of days visit to The Manor House and wow, it certainly did not disappoint! The village itself is like stepping into a painting – so picturesque it was almost surreal. The Hotel had that same feel. Set within stunning grounds, the hotel is magnificent. My room was spacious, comfortable and bursting with character. And the bathroom…particularly impressive. What really made it special though, was the team. From the moment I checked in, everyone from reception to the F&B staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The food was good, no complaints there at all. It was a serene experience for me and I was able to switch off and relax, which was the main objective of this trip. I look forward to returning there.

Wonderful 5-star hotel, immersed in a centuries-old park, it feels like living on the scene of a movie, everything was perfect. Just outside the gate you are in the streets of Castle Combe. Ample parking and excellent aperitifs. We also tried dinner at the hotel restaurant and it didn’t satisfy me too much, especially the service that in a structure of this level should be the top.

Probably one of the most photographed Manor House and rightly so. From the moment when you drive up to this place it all feels so magical. It quickly transports you back to a time and imagining what it must have been like reaching to this place. We decided to book a stay over the bank holiday weekend on a whim after visiting the area, and the dedicated Guest Services team, with a particular huge SHOUT OUT GOING TO LAURA she really made sure that our stay is memorable, not least for the upgrade thank you very much, but all in all from the booking to arrival everything was just wonderful and perfect. I don't think it could have been any better even if we/they tried hard enough. For us this resembled a perfect weekend getaway from the stresses of London and one that we would book again in a heartbeat. We opted for the Dine & Stay, and we are so glad that we did. The Michelin Dining experience under the marvellous chef was exceptional. The food and the flavours are a burst of joy in your mouth with every mouthful. An experience not to be missed. Having eated Michelin food in France on many occassions, I can safely say with confidence that this is en par and up there with similar experiences. Given the time of year, it was also magical with the gorgeous views surrounding the manor house. The bedrooms are a place that transports you and everything about it is exceptional. One only wishes to stay there permanently. The breakfasts are exceptional and it is a great way to start the day whether going for a walk around the forests or elsewhere. Overall, a wonderful wonderful stay and we are already looking forward to when we will be back. We really like to thank hugely our guest services member Laura for ensuring that our stay is one to remember. Kudos and well done. Of course, the rest of the teams in the hotel, from the cocktail bar, to the restaurant, and the kitchen have all played a part in ensuring a memorable stay.

We would personally like to say a very big thank you to Marius the sommelier was so wonderful, the wine was amazing and complimented the outstanding tasting menu. Thank you to all the staff , for all their hard work to make two evenings so memorable.

My Dad purchased afternoon tea for two as part of my Christmas presents & I was looking forward to attending with my niece for a lovely afternoon of complete decadence! We had a lovely stroll around Castle Combe first & were more than ready for our tea by the time we arrived at the hotel. We were greeted at the door with a lovely, warm welcome & shown to a beautiful room filled with summer sunshine overlooking the manicured lawns. Our waiter explained the afternoon tea options, checked back with us to ensure everything was ok & again to see if anything else was required. Afternoon tea was excellent & we left there very pleasantly but not uncomfortably full. It was the perfect time to stroll around the grounds on both the upper & lower levels. We were given assurance that there was no hurry to leave & just to enjoy the tranquil surroundings. What I liked most about the Manor is the feeling of quiet, sumptuous luxury but, all of the staff we interacted with made it feel relaxed & informal from Reception, to our waiters and also the bar staff. We had a wonderful day & it felt like a really lovely treat, especially for my niece who is in her third trimester. I will definitely be back with my Dad to show him around & join you for lunch or dinner next time. Thank you everyone!

Excellent hotel, with a very good michelin starred restaurant (Bybrook). The hotel had big rooms and friendly staff, only downside was lots of daytrippers using the hotel grounds also. Dinner at Bybrook was excellent, good staff and Marius the Sommelier was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast was ok, very disappointing breakfast buffet, but the full English breakfast was decent. Overall, definitely worth visiting and the hotel package with dinner is good value viz a viz the normal cost of a michelin starred mesl for two.
