"I booked Eagle Rock Bed and Breakfast in Chemainus through ******* while planning a trip that included Salt Spring Island. Shortly after booking, I realized the property was not located on Salt Spring Island and immediately attempted to cancel the reservation. Despite trying to cancel promptly, I was still charged. What makes this significantly worse is that I have repeatedly tried contacting the property using the phone number provided. No one answers. I have left multiple voicemails explaining the situation and asking someone to contact me, and I have received absolutely no response. Taking a guest’s money while being completely unreachable afterward is outrageous. Whether or not they want to hide behind a cancellation policy, a reputable business should at least ANSWER THE PHONE or return repeated messages from someone who has been charged. At this point I have paid for a stay I immediately tried to cancel, cannot get anyone at the property to speak with me, and have been left chasing them for my own money. That is not hospitality. That is not customer service. And it is certainly not how a legitimate, professionally operated accommodation should treat people. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering booking Eagle Rock Bed and Breakfast think twice before handing over their credit card information. If something goes wrong with your reservation, my experience suggests you may have an extremely difficult time getting anyone to respond. I will be pursuing this through ******* and my payment provider until it is resolved. Completely unacceptable."
