The Inn at Union Pier

Beautifully remodeled quiet old Inn, within a short walking distance to Lake Michigan Union Pier beach. Bill the owner, MaryAnn and Colin his staff were very welcoming, warm & friendly, with good local advice. Their cook deliciously met our dietary requests. Peaceful gardens around property with lots of options for seating areas to read or chat. Indoors many room have old Swedish restored "kokelovens" with working fireplaces. The beds are very comfortable with lots of extra pillows and warm blankets as needed. We love kids, but it's also a nice getaway, as no children under 12 are allowed. A couple good restaurants are within walking (the Red Arrow Roadhouse, yummy & lively, but crowded bar)or a short drive to Timothy's and others.

We loved our time at the Inn at Union Pier. From the moment we arrived we felt comfortable and at home. Even though there were no vacancies we rarely saw another person. Bill, the owner is so personable. We stayed in the Captains Quarters, very large with a jucuzzi and I think it's the only room with a TV. It's very rustic. The stairs creaked and there was a slight musty odor but for us it all just added to the ambiance. The beach is very close by and beautiful. We loved this place.

This is my 2nd time here and this time brought Friends to share this place we stayed april 22-24. We feel in love last year and this year just confirmed our love for this place. Its such a nice mini get away from reality! Mary Ann and Lori are beyond fantastic the moment you step into the inn your taken away to paradise! Enjoy the popcorn and wine from 5pm. to 7pm. Have great conversation with other guests. The fresh cookie and tea and hot tub makes you feel your like a kid at Disney land but in adult world. The breakfast makes you wish they could cook for you every morning. The small walk to the beach to watch the sunset just WOW!. The rooms are just amazing we stayed in Madeleine’s room in the Pier House this time definitely my favorite! Great View, comfortable bed, love the purple color scheme. Honestly can not wait to come back in the winter to try the kakelugns. Please give this place a try you will want to keep coming back. I know I do and can't stop talking about this place. Just came back over the weekend from a beautiful weekend getaway at The Inn. Thanks To Living social I was able to find this Magical Destination close to home. Check in to check out was easy and wonderful. Karin and Mary Ann made the experience fantastic even with the rainy weekend. We checked in and had popcorn and wine in The Great House . They do this from 5-7 everyday. We were shown the grounds which are beautiful. they give you so much freedom to room around. cookies and hot tea are available to have any time. We stayed in the beachcomber room it was nice, old fashioned decorations that needs a pick me up that I know they are working to do. We could not get the WIFI to connect properly to any of our devices so we decided instead to use the weekend to just get away from technology. The Hot tub was so nice to use we meet some wonderful couples that we talk to during our stay. Breakfast each morning was served by Mary Ann and it was like Disneyland in your mouth. they start with muffins and a parfait each different each morning. First day we had scrambled eggs, sausage and fresh veggies, the 2nd day was Ginger pancakes with lemon sauce and Ham. With The Living Social Deal we went to the Round Barn for a tasting was awesome. The only disappointment we had was The Dinner at Timothy that came with our deal. I would not suggest this place service was terrible food was alright. I hope they change the deal to a better place like Casey's or Road House. I hope to get back and try some other rooms. and try the unique Kakelugns when it colder. WOW!! Beautiful Inn, very friendly staff that made you feel right at home and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious! They have beach chairs for you to use and bicycles too at no extra cost! The beach is a very short walk and it's breathtaking! Our room was fantastic and the bed was super comfy! The history of this Inn is so interesting as well. 100% would go back and highly recommend! Thank you Inn at Union Pier ~ we will be back!

Great location in tranquil neighborhood! Delicious cookies, popcorn, wine and breakfast all included! Loved the beautiful flower garden! Rooms are all unique! Friendly owner and staff! Hot Tub was a delight! Short walk to fablulous beach and great resturant!
