HI - Martha's Vineyard Hostel

The shower curtain is disgusting. There are no night lights in dorm 1. The liquid soap has been diluted. The three fridges are overflowing and each has its' own particular aroma. It was sheer agony trying to open the door to dorm 1. I had the correct code but the door would not open. Check-in Michael is rude beyond words. I felt very uncomfortable the first night and told Ryan I wanted a refund to avoid "pain and suffering" on all sides. I was granted a full refund: however, I was soon thereafter, for no reason banished from the hostel and property. The text to me read, "If you come back it will be considered trespassing and you will be arrested." That was cruel and totally uncalled for and undeserved. The situation was very poorly handled. Trained chimps could have done it better.

I wanted to say, and having stayed at many hostels over time, this hostel is absolutely fantastic! I would not have come to Martha's Vineyard if I didn't call ahead of time and get excellent service over the phone. The genetleman assured me I could do Martha's vineyard on a budget and how I can get around the island from the hostel without a car. When I arrived I was warmly greeted by Chirs and he continued to be excellent and hospiitable my entire stay. The last day my phone didn't work and the manager, didn't get his name unfortunetly, went out of his way to help me try to dry my phone out and get it charged. I have stayed in many hostels but this is easily some of the best service I have had staying at one. Thank you all staff I met there for going above and beyond!
