The Waterfront Hotel

Cheap and cheerful. Great location 👌 Mini kitchen in your room. Comfortable beds . Clean and tidy. Fridge , kettle , sink Microwave! TV Our dogs allowed too. 🎈👍🥳👌 Will definitely 💯 return....... Happy Christmas 🎄

Hands down the worst place I’ve ever stayed. If I hadn’t already paid I would have walked straight back out and booked somewhere else. The only thing that was clean was the bedding and towels. The stair carpet was absolutely disgusting - dread to think what the kitchen looked like! Never took shoes off my feet unless I was in bed as the floor was vile, my son moved the bed slightly and there was rotten food under there from god knows when 🤢 I just felt dirty the entire time in the hotel, I honestly couldn’t wait to get home. Maybe, after a good clean and some decorating this hotel could be average but seems they only clean the lobby. Room door took some strength to lock also. Wouldn’t even recommend this place to the homeless.

Lovely place very spacious clean,and the staff were lovely check in was really simple even though I had updated to a earlier time on my day if arrival.its now under the name the water front and as a family will will definitely be returning

From what we saw of this ‘hotel’ I would say that it needs demolishing. It is so old and unkempt - we couldn’t even stay 1 night. Our room was filthy. We booked somewhere else and left, pronto. There were toe nails and dirt all over the floors. The shower was disgusting. The toilet, well, you definitely wouldn’t want to sit on it. Anne was lovely though.

Never stayed anywhere has bad 2 couples in our visit and our rooms both had problems from cold rooms to toilet coming up from floor and cold showers dirty rooms to windows letting in cold air with curtains coming into the rooms so couldnot stay

This establishment is now called the Waterfront and sadly is not what it used to be. My wife had to clean all of the kitchen and its utensils as was filthy with thick dust. Such a pity as the view from the balcony is second to none on the seafront and in a prime position. This place has so much potential but it badly needs care and attention. We paid £80 a night for 3 nights which really was robbery. We will not be returning unless ownership changes. So very disappointing. To add to the above there is a £14+ charge for parking your car on the forecourt of the establishment. I would strongly advise that you view the property before booking and park on a side street for free.

We messaged a few hours before leaving our house to double check there was still a parking space for us as they advertised their own Parking only to find out the land had been sold and it was now £15 a day!! Going up the stairs on the way to our room on the top floor, the carpets were disgusting 🤢 . The door to the room was all paint chipped abs battered looking. The window was broken with handle missing and was screwed shut !! So I’d they was a fire, forget it! The extraction fab in toilet didn’t work so there was literally no air flow or fresh air in the room at all. There were Masses of dust that had gathered literally hanging down from the window because no one has cleaned it.. what more to say any, but I think the photos speak for themselves. We just posted our keys and left straight away so had to cut our holiday short. Avoid this place like the plague!!

I came for the Punk weekend so just a place to rest my head, not particularly bothered about bells and whistles, although I had to review that the cleanliness needs addressing. I found:- Graffiti actually on the wall of the room Hairs in the shower from previous occupant Fag butt in one of the drawers Stained carpet, walls and door Light above sink not working No spoon with coffee making facilities so had to stir with a make up brush handle. On the positive side, the front door is open till late, there is a McDonald's next door and a tram stop on the other side of the road for easy access to the main town. I would probably come here again, as it was so cheap, (I guess you get what you pay for) but now I know what standard to expect!!!!

Genuinely amazed how this “hotel” has had anything other than 1 star reviews!! When booking as a group we weren’t expecting much but at the very minimum clean and tidy rooms. On arrival we were greeted by an unexpected water feature as the reception ceiling was leaking all over the electrics and across the first internal door meaning we had no choice but to walk through the water leaking from the ceiling!! The gentleman who was trying to control the leak, must have been on a day off as he was in full tracksuit, handed us the keys and showed us to our rooms. After about 30 mins the owner comes to tell us we’re in the wrong room so taken up to the “penthouse”. The communal areas were extremely run down, mouldy and the whole place stank of smoke despite the no smoking signs and some of the lobby areas were really smoky when walking through. At one point we also took a wrong turn in the lobby and were met with part of the building which I presume was out of action as the mould down the wall was horrific and there was a hole around 4x4 ft in the ceiling. The rooms themself were extremely dirty, dusty and almost everything was broke. Dried sick on back of curtains, stains everywhere and I do not believe the room had been cleaned in between stays. To top it off we had no hot water. Needless to say we did not stay for our full 3 night stay and decided to cut our break short. How this place can continue trading in this state is unbelievable. Don’t make the same mistake we did!!
