Set in the beautiful Welsh countryside, this 16th century building has been transformed into a comfortable guest house with an indoor swimming pool. This building maintains many of its original features, including oak beams and thick stone walls. The property has 8 bedrooms which all have private bathrooms.
Centrally located within Hay-on-Wye, famous for being the ‘secondhand book capital of the world’, during your stay you can explore the town’s arts, crafts and ‘eccentric’ shops. Also nearby you can find The beautiful Cathedral City of Hereford, Brecon with its canal and Cathedral, and local castles, such as Raglan.

Perfectly located if you are visiting Hay on Wye. The room was what you would expect being in an old building - floors were a bit uneaven, room was small but everything was clean and comfy. Decor was slightly outdated - wouldn’t want them to change the downstairs at all as it was in keeping with the age but the room was a bit dated - I would go with something in keeping with the age of the building or modern but it was somewhere in between. Breakfast was delicious and there were a lot of things to choose from.

The location in the centre of Hay on Wye was perfect. Free carparking and free access to the indoor heated swimming pool, added exceptional value. The room was attractive and light from a large window which offered views across the stunning countryside. Spotlessly clean and with lots of towels. The breakfast options had something for everyone and were filling enough that we did not need more than a coffee and cake for lunch. The owner and her team were all delightful. The price point made this a 10/10 for a repeat booking.

G We had a one night stay at the Seven Stars. It’s in the centre of Hay with a car park which is an advantage. The staff were very friendly and there was a good choice for breakfast, which was excellent. Everything was clean but the downside was everything was very dated and from a bygone era. We had a bedroom overlooking the street which was as OK but the double bed was a bit small and there was only one bedside lamp. It’s a nice B&B but it needs an update

Back at the Severn Stars in Hay after many visits. In our favourite Room 8, like a peaceful, country cabin at the back of the hotel. Spotlessly clean, comfy bed, lovely big shower. A bonus to have the pool after a long walk or trawl around the bookshops. The breakfasts are fantastic and Di the owner gives a warm, friendly welcome.

I spent 3 nights at the Seven Stars with my teenage daughter for her birthday treat. We had a family room (number 7) on the top floor. We loved the character of the room, and it was incredibly quiet. We used the pool a couple of times. It was a lovely temperature and very clean. We had the pool to ourselves both days. The breakfasts were excellent. Several hot options. Probably the best smoked haddock and smoked salmon I've ever eaten. The full cooked breakfast was huge and very well cooked. Topped off with a generous cafetiere of coffee, toast etc. Nearly forgot to mention the gorgeous Captain. My daughter fell in love with him after the first cuddle!

We've been going to the Seven Stars for our anniversary for the last few years and it never disappoints. Di and her team are warm, friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for wondering around the town and the pool is calm and quiet. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the food is lovely. We can't wait to go back!

We've been coming to the Seven Stars for thirteen years, and always look forward to returning. The rooms are lovely, the welcome is always warm, and the breakfast is always excellent. We will be back regularly for the next few years. The Seven Stars is in the centre with it's own car park. This is an excellent location to explore the beautiful town.

This was a return visit for us after 20 years to find it was the same friendly welcoming place with fantastic staff and host that couldn't do enough for you. This time we stayed in the annex where the accomodation was just as good as the main building. Excellent location, amazing breakfast. Thank you and we shall return again but not leave it so long again.

They should be embarrassed to sell a room that backs onto the pool area known as the 'annex'. Its either freezing or boiling; very little insulation present. Can hear everything. No one of substance to query bill/rate. Shower hardly works. Shouldn't be allowed to use this area as a room. Whilst access was available from 9am, please ensure you never have this room. Breakfast was very average. Had arranged to have early breakfast at 8am but no one was there.
