"I stayed at the Hotel Keßler-Meyer for two nights in September 2023 with a friend. We had a very good time overall. We had room 4 in the main building, close to the reception, which was clean, spacious, stylishly decorated, and well-equipped with A/C, TV, safe, fridge, coffee maker, free Wi-Fi, hair dryer, bath robes, slippers, a sauna bag containing towels and a blanket, and even a hiking backpack with a refillable water bottle. The bathroom was clean and spacious as well. A nice selection of brand toiletries were provided. We had booked a package which included half board, a massage, a bottle of wine and one of water, a cocktail, plus free use of the spa area until 6 p.m. on the day of departure. The pool is quite small but was never very crowded. I often had it to myself. The spa area is nice, though rather small as well. It contains two saunas and a steam bath. Tea, water, and apples are provided free of charge. Breakfast was buffet style and was very good. There was a vast selection of items and most of them were of good quality, though we didn’t care for the falafel and humus. Didn’t try the fried eggs as they looked quite dry. Dinner on both days consisted of soup (two kinds to choose from), salad from a salad bar, main course (meat, fish, or vegetarian), and dessert (two options to choose from). We enjoyed the food, overall. My only criticism is firstly the fact that the same kind of soup was offered on the two consecutive days, so although it was good it was probably not freshly prepared on the second day, and secondly the horrible dessert on the second day, which consisted mainly of a marinated pear that was terribly dry. My friend couldn’t eat it at all, in fact. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We did have our doubts about the massage as it was included in our package, but it turned out to be very good. When we checked out we were given a snack pack for the trip home consisting of two bottles of water, apples, and home-made cookies, which was a very nice touch. It takes about twenty minutes to walk to Cochem old town from the hotel, but it is a pleasant walk along the river. The walk to the castle looks steep, but it turned out to be easier than I had expected and took me less than half an hour. So I would say the hotel’s location isn’t bad. We had a view of the castle from our room. To sum it up, I warmly recommend this hotel and might return."

"La position de l'hôtel est excellente et la chambre est excellente; Il est possible de s'occuper de l'hébergement et de la réception avec enthousiasme; Il faut un rendez-vous préalable. Le parking peut être arrêté à court terme. Le petit-déjeuner est étrange, il y a une machine à café, mais la fille a refusé de me faire usage de son numéro de chambre."

"Jamais plus! Le seul petit déjeuner positif était. Les chambres dans cette chaleur sans climatisation sont une chambre de torture. Seulement une bulle de stand qui était exagérée est disponible. Entourée de l'hôtel inconservée! L'hôtel avec quelques pièces « vintage » qui sont arrivés dans les années. À partir de 17 h, aucun personnel n'est présent. Retour à partir de 8 h. Malheureusement, ils ont dû arrêter pour des raisons de santé, après une nuit. Aucune rencontre de l'hôtelier, que vous avez dû appeler vous-même, exige le prix total! Demander le solde de l'assurance! Pied à la ville très étroit. Pied à la ville montée, mais le retour montée montée. Nous avons dû prendre un taxi. Personnel vietnamien? Parle un peu allemand."

"Un hôtel bien géré et maintenu environ 15-20min à pied du centre de Cochem. Si vous cherchez un hôtel pour explorer Cochem et la région voisine, vous ne pouvez pas vous tromper avec Stumbergers. Nous resterons ici la prochaine fois que nous sommes à Cochem/ faire Nürburgring. Le Grand - Taille de la chambre et la propreté. Tout a été très bien entretenu et de bonne qualité. - Petit déjeuner. Style continental avec des œufs. Tout frais et de qualité alimentaire. - Personnel. Amiable, réaliste et vous fait sentir très bienvenu. - Location. Le restaurant est un restaurant et un bar. Le temps est le même que le petit déjeuner. Je recommande d'étendre le temps de visite à 10.30am pour permettre aux invités de prendre du temps après le repas. Le Bad - Rien! Cet endroit définit un point de référence élevé pour les petits hôtels en Europe. J'aimerais que ce soit plus comme ça. Même les grandes chaînes pouvaient apprendre beaucoup de cet hôtel."

"Our hosts recommended this restaurant to us. It was close by, had a good rating, and the photos of the interiors looked charming. We couldn’t have foreseen the terrible service. Now that I think about it, I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews. We entered the restaurant, waited for a waiter to approach, and asked for a table for two. The polite and friendly waiter showed us to our table, handed us the menus, explained the special of the day, and then left so we could decide what to order. Soon, the lady we had seen at the reception came to ask what we’d like to drink. I asked if they had Glühwein. “We drink Glühwein in winter,” she replied disapprovingly. “Okay,” I said, and admitted that despite the large selection of wines on the menu, I wasn’t sure which one to choose, as I know very little about wine. Instead of asking what we planned to order and recommending something to go with it, she remained silent. “I guess we won’t drink, then,” I said, feeling quite awkward. “This is a restaurant. People come here to drink,” she replied - extremely sharply and rudely. I realize now that we should have simply gotten up and left, but at that moment we were so disconcerted and confused that I just ordered a hot chocolate - the first thing I remembered from the drinks menu. I asked whether it would be possible to have it after the meal, to which she again replied disapprovingly, “No, drinks before the meal,” and left. I was at a loss for words in response to such rudeness. Only one other table was occupied, and I kept wondering if they had heard how harshly this lady had spoken to us. It was humiliating. Soon, the waiter came to take our order - potato soup and goulash soup (these dishes had been praised in the reviews). The hot chocolate was fine, but I could barely taste it as my mood was completely ruined. All the good spirits we had entered the restaurant with evaporated, and the entire time we waited for our food, we felt the sting of what had happened. We’d entered with smiles, greeted everyone, and been perfectly polite - yet this lady treated us like a doormat simply because we didn’t want to drink. Now we had only one thing on our minds: to eat quickly, pay, and leave this place where we clearly weren’t welcome. The potato soup was a bit different from the ones I’d tried elsewhere in Germany - I didn’t taste much cream in it. It was still delicious, the spices were well-balanced, and I enjoyed it (as much as one can after such humiliation). The goulash soup was also a success, with generous pieces of meat; my father was pleased with his dish. We asked for the bill, paid, and left - never to return. I should emphasize that the waiter was absolutely professional; I even felt sorry about the small tip we left, but it was the only way to express our dissatisfaction with the lady taking the drink orders. I can confidently say that she was the rudest person my father and I met during our 17-day trip to Germany, and that people with "
