Stunning property. Our villa was beautiful. Excellent and attentive staff. Meals were beautiful and delicious. Loved our tour of the wine cellar. An amazing property with incredible people who work there. The villas are private and spacious. Very pampered while staying here.

We stayed in Cabernet, and the views and accommodations were superb. The restaurant is excellent, and service there was spot on. Loved our tour of the winery, also. We spent three nights, and they were a relaxing counterpoint to our other incredible stays in Chile which involved a lot of hiking. This stop was rest and bliss.

We returned to Clos Apalta a second time because we love it so much! Joachin, the manager, is an absolute gem. The renovations they've done since we first visited look great, and the food, wine and service are as perfect as ever. Clos Apalta will always be on the top of our list for future trips to Chile.

Clos Apalta in the Colchaga Valley, only 2+ hours from Santiago, is an absolute gem. It commands an elevated position overlooking a panorama of its extensive vineyards. The property provides pure luxury, while not in any way being pretentious. Accommodation is offered in spacious, well designed, state-of-the-art casitas which are set on slopes of natural vegetation overlooking the extensive vineyards of the property. The interiors are luxury personified and this is equally seen in the fantastic dining location, service and quality of food and cooking. Lunches and dinners are generally several courses, paired with wines from the vineyards in front of one. The wines are served and tutored by a masterly sommelier. Each meal is made to be a memorable experience, with exquisite place settings and glassware. There were just two features which we found annoying in our 4-night stay: one was the total absence of shade and privacy around the plunge pool (particularly in some of the new casitas). The other issue was that the duty managers ranged from excellent to ineffectual. Nevertheless, Clos Apalta provides the most perfect of vineyard stays.

This property, and every aspect of it, are simply the best--among the finest all-inclusive properties I've ever stayed at. We stayed in one of the 6 newly built Casitas (completed in September or so; with 2 people per room, that currently puts maximum occupancy at 12 people). The views from every room and angle of the Casita are spectacular, overlooking the vast vineyards. To the left upon entry (we were in the Viognier Casita, closest to the Residence--the property's main structure, about a 3 minute walk from our Casita), was a spacious living area, with comfortable chairs, a desk, mini-fridge stocked with waters and sodas, as well as much appreciated milk for morning coffee, Nespresso machine, with sliding doors that opened to a lovely balcony. To the right of the entry was the most spacious closet I've ever experienced, with luxurious hanging space, shelves, drawers, and mirrors. On the other side of that was the amazing bedroom, with three walls of glass with full views of the vineyards (2 of which opened onto balconies, one accessing a table and chairs, the other accessing a walkway to the plunge pool). One need not fret about light peeking into the glass enclosed bedroom (I always travel with a sleeping mask), because they have Lutron (or equivalent) automated blackout blinds, which transform the bedroom into a completely darkened sleeping space (--lighting and electrical throughout the Casita was impressive, state-of-the-art, but is Chilean outlets). The bathrooms have every amenity imaginable, and include a divine tub, walk in shower (rain head and hand held shower heads), with heated towel bars. The bathrooms have a separately enclosed toilet area, hooks for robes or towels, have two complete sink areas with an array of L'Occitane products, and that amazing view of the vineyards. Every meal was to perfection and overseen by the omnipresent--in a most welcome way-- by the very knowledgeable and helpful sommelier, Dragan, for whom nothing was too much of an ask. He, and the rest of the staff provided excellent service (and Dragan gave an incredible tour of the very impressive Bodega--one of the most beautiful I've seen anywhere, with stunning lighting, layouts, artful designs, and a multi-storied spiral staircase down to a two story private family cavernous cellar). They offer a golf cart ride from the Residence to and from the Casitas, but we preferred to walk. There are onsite horseback rides and massages (we choose to walk the property, where we saw a peacock, a condor, and the original structure from before the Casitas were built). The food was sublime, with every lunch and dinner being accompanied by a personalized menu (they clear food allergies/preferences in advance and are open to requests), a three piece apertif course, which in our case always included a delicious and most anticipated mini empanada plus two other items, a starter, an entree, and dessert. Breakfasts included an extensive buffet of fruits, baked goods, homemade j

Winery with one of the better reputations in the Calcagua wine region of Chile, originally with four rooms and now increased to ten. Beautiful rooms and lovely views over the El Condor valley. Service was fine, if occasionally a bit relaxed and slightly lacking in warmth. Dinner was very good. We stayed for four nights to chill after a hectic fortnight of travels in Chile, so maybe that was a mistake as the food offering outside of the formal lunches and dinners was very limited. For activities, external wine tours were excellent, but surprisingly, their own was a little underwhelming. Horse riding was disappointing, as the horses were skittish and the process not very well controlled. Nice gym, pleasant small steam and sauna and you cannot fault the setting and views from the rooms. Tons of space and a lot of hard wood surfaces. Maybe some blinds might have been nice for the bathrooms given the occasionally helicopter fly past! All in all, a nice stay but maybe better for one or two nights, and definitely book external wine tours.

If I could rate this higher I would. There is no question as to why this place is rated so incredibly high, and gets amazing reviews. First off the location and vineyard are just amazing. Beautiful, serene, majestic and peaceful. All the things you hope for on a trip. The Casitas are 5 star quality and class. Very well planned and built. You feel open and exposed to the landscape and yet alone like you are royalty. (You can see why the owner has one for themselves). The casitas are very large and open. The most comfortable and relaxing “room”. The vineyard and winery are not typical and very well planned and designed. Everything you learn about the wine making, attention to detail, striving for a great glass of wine, the process and the love from the ownership comes through in the whole experience. The food is next level. You feel as everything is tailor made just for you (which sometimes it is). The chef and staff are very conscientious about food allergies and concerns, and it doesn’t take away from the taste or experience. (Amazing gluten free bread) . And then the staff, I have saved the best for last. If all the other reviews of the area and the accommodations don’t persuade you to stay here then this will. Daniel and his staff at Clos Apalta are nothing short of the best. From the emails before arriving, to greeting you as you pull up, following up with you after you have left, and everything in between this group is the best to do it. You never want for anything while you are there and everyone there is warm and welcoming. This was one of the most amazing times I have had on a trip. Really didn’t want to leave and will 100% be back with friends and family. muchas gracias fue increíble Clos Apalta
