Whole Foods and the Tuesday and Sunday Farmers Markets are all walking distance.The spaceWhen I step into my space from the street it feels like I have just passed through a portal into some place unexpected. How did I fit all of the essential comforts of home into about 500 square feet without it feeling cramped or cluttered? I think my space is cozy, relatively quiet and very relaxing.I really did try to think of every desirable convenience so please let me know what I'm missing in your home away from home.Now outside, on a warm sunny day I think you would enjoy sitting outside behind the gate inconspicuously watching the neighborhood traffic pass by. People walking, jogging or bike riding to the nearby Park, Dry Cleaners, Laundromat, Whole Foods Market, Berkeley Bowl organic food store and a host of other quirky storefront places that are sprinkled throughout the neighborhood. Including the tailor shop and men's clothing store right next. door. Right on the corner there is a Subway Sandwich Shop, an awesome Gourmet Pizza / Bakery, a Corner Convenience Store too.Guest accessGuest have access to everything behind the gate with the exception of one cabinet in the kitchen I use for storage.Other things to noteThe space is newly remodeled. Everything has been updated except for the cold tile floors. With that said you maybe the first to use something so your feed back sent directly to me would be helpful so I can make the necessary adjustments for the next guest.Regarding the gate I am aware that coming in and out can be cumbersome especially with bags in hand. Open both wooden gates inward all the way to make it easier to get in and out of the security door. The security door must be shut to close the wooden gate doors. I extended the gate as far out onto the sidewalk as the property line would allow me to in in order to provide separation and security. Welcome to the serene and peaceful CozyOak Studio in Redwood Heights, Oakland CA. A good space to relax, rejuvenate and create. Tucked behind a long driveway and the main house, CozyOak studio sits between a beautiful majestic Oak tree and a Tall stoic Redwood. You can sit and take in lovely views of the Bay or visit stunning hiking trails. Close to Mills College, you can walk to sweet local places to eat, drink and shop.The spaceThe Studio is a private one room space, a converted garage that was once a art-space / music studio and now a sweet living unit to enjoy. The studio has a comfortable full size bed, full bathroom w/shower & tub, day bed (best for kids or naping adults) writing desk and a lovely sitting porch for watching the Bay views. It's a great space for 1 to 2 people and small child. Set about 50 ft behind our house in our backyard, the Studio is in a neighborhood but it feels secluded like you're in the country and because it sits between two large trees, an Oak and a Redwood it feels very secluded. It's quiet, cozy and comfortable. Also - we are located on a steep hill which makes for great views but can be a vigorous climb if you should want to walk and explore the neighborhood. Other things to noteCell phone service is spotty depending on your carrier. WiFi connectivity is great. We live in the main house so you may hear an occasional sound. Streets are narrow and steep with no dedicated sidewalk as with most hills neighborhood. Trees sometimes obscure street signs and lampposts so trying to locate our house at night can be challenging. There are stairs to access the unit and pavement can sometimes be uneven so those with mobility issues please be aware. Although we are located in the city of Oakland, the setting has a rural feel.
