East Winds St. Lucia- All Inclusive

Il est difficile de critiquer quelque chose qui est parfait. Je ne peux pas croire que ce voyage ait dépassé celui de l’année dernière. Dès l'instant où nous sommes entrés dans le complexe, c'était comme si nous rentrions à la maison. Nous avons eu un accueil chaleureux de la part de tout le personnel, ancien et nouveau. Notre chambre était parfaite et joliment décorée avec des fleurs du magnifique jardin. Tous les produits de la salle de bain sont brun fondu et le frigo est bien approvisionné tous les jours. Nous avons adoré les mangeoires à oiseaux placées à l'extérieur de notre salle ronde (chambre supérieure) et cela a attiré les colibris. Sylvanus, le jardinier, nous a fait une merveilleuse visite guidée du jardin qui s'est terminée par un thé à la cannelle. La nourriture est délicieuse avec une carte tous les soirs avec un menu dégustation accompagné de vins. Tous les serveurs sont incroyables, mais particulièrement les barmans Sylvia, Wendel et Mickel ainsi que les serveurs Septima, Jesse et Chanta. La gérante, Natasha, est très visible et s'occupera de tout problème rapidement. Avec autant de retours dans la station, c'était formidable de saluer de vieux amis et d'en rencontrer de nouveaux. J'ai apprécié les cours de yoga et nous avons apprécié les sports nautiques avec Joe. Mon seul commentaire est que même si les régimes sans gluten sont bien pris en compte, il serait bon de prendre des collations sans gluten au bar et dans le thé de l'après-midi. Merci et East Winds me souffle encore une fois.

The setting and buildings are wonderful, and the individual rooms are beautifully designed, with magnificent bathrobes (I even bought the PJ's they sell there). Also the staff are amazing. Sadly, what lets it down is the restaurant. It felt like the chef bought a cook book in the 1980's, and hasn't changed anything since then. Food like beef burginon and lamb shank are not the sort of meals you expect on a Caribbean island, (give us more authenic food!) and the cocktail menu was woeful (didn't realise til it was too late that you could actually order your choice of modern cocktails as well). It all needs updating asap!! At 57 we were one of the youngest guests, and it did have a retirement home vibe, made worse by the dreadful musical entertainment which reminded me of Richard Clayderman. Could so easily been made into a wonderful experience by updating the food offering to bring it into the 21st century!

My wife and I revisted East Winds for a third time, originally honeymooning at the hotel 28 years ago, and again for our 25th wedding anniversary 3 years ago. The hotel is set in beautiful tropical gardens, well tended by head gardener Sylvanus and his team. The restaurant, bars and pool (with swim up bar) are all a stones throw from each other and the beach The warm and friendly welcome makes you feel at home immediately. The entire staff are kind and courteous, with no request too much to ask. The relaxed atmosphere and 'good vibes' among the staff ensured we were straight into the holiday spirit. Previously we had stayed in the 'deluxe' cottages, this time we chose the 'superior' Our room was very spacious, with all amenities we could want. Tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge constantly stocked with water, soft drinks, beer and wine. The bedroom was large and accommodating, with more than enough wardrobe and drawer space for our 2 week visit. Air conditioning was very welcome. The bathroom was spacious, with his and her basins, walk in shower, and much to my wife's delight, a copious supply of Moulton Brown products. The food was exquisite! Breakfast, lunch and dinner always satisfied, with the dining room staff always attentive but not intrusive. The most difficult thing about dining here is deciding what to choose to eat, as each choice on the menu was absolutely delicious. There was nothing we ate that we didn't enjoy. And with the restaurant positioned right next to the beach, I cannot think of a more perfect dining experience. The bar staff were equally as friendly and attentive, both in the bars and also at the pool and beach. It was a struggle to get through all of the cocktails on the menu, but we gave it our best shot! The trips and activities organised through the hotel by Simeon, the always effervescent activities organiser are definitely worth trying, from the exquisite boat trip to Soufrie and the volcano, the beautiful sunset cruise, rainforest, distillery tour and chocolate making just to name a few. The hotel also provides some free water sport activities. Snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding are freely available as well as trips on the hobie cat around the bay. In all, I cannot think of a more beautiful place on earth to visit. We had a truly wonderful time! We will certainly be returning soon!

This is a lovely friendly boutique hotel set in immaculate gardens where you can watch the humming birds feed from your own room feeder. The room was spacious and air conditioned with an unusual semi-circular sunken shower. The food was very good and the evening music, particularly the saxophonist, was excellent. All in all, a really great place to stay.

We split our stay in St Lucia, 4 nights in the south and 6 nights further North at East Winds. We are not really beach people but we loved East Winds. There was enough to do as well as time to relax. We stayed in room 27 which was lovely, it had a sea view and the feeder on the balcony attracted lots of birds including hummingbirds. We took part in the yoga and pilates, we had massages and I had a facial. We went out on the hobie cat a couple of times, the paddleboards and used the snorkeling gear (although not too much to see). We did the excursion to Pigeon Island and the walk with Simeon on a Tuesday morning and the rum tasting was brilliant. The quality of the food and wine was exceptional and all the staff are so lovely and very helpful. We loved every minute of our stay and would love to return again one day. Thank you for such a great holiday.

With only 30 rooms, and no disco or casino, bring your own partner. Yoga and Pilates offered on site, as well as cooking and tasting activities. Offsite excursions also offered. Water sports offered include Hobie Cat sailing (with instruction), snorkeling, paddle boarding and snorkeling. Small beach and pool with sufficient chaise lounges provided. No need to claim before breakfast. Good shade offered at the beach (trees and structures). Small surf. Excellent food with dinner served. Gluten free and vegan offerings. Excellent live music with dinner. Only a few danced. Roughly 80% of guests were Brits. Many were regulars. Good resort for “mature” guests. Resort setting is a garden. Abundant flowers and hummingbirds. My wife and I enjoyed each other in the beauty and quiet of this special place. Disappointed that we did not have an expansive beach for morning walks. Rocks and trees on one end of our beach and Windjammer Resort on the other end.
