The Lakes by Yoo

The service was not great for an expensive luxury resort

We recently stayed at The Lakes by Yoo and had an absolutely wonderful time. Finding a place that truly caters for both parents and children is rare—but this place ticks every box. It is a calm and idyllic setting where you can fully immerse yourself in nature, unwind, relax and recharge. Some of our favourite highlights: the breath-taking views, scenic walks, swimming outdoors and in, beautifully designed interiors, the cosy log-burning fire, freshly baked welcome treats (sourdough bread, cake and jam) and the indulgent Wildsmith and Moss of The Isles products. It is also a brilliant spot from which to discover more of the Cotswolds. We loved every moment of our stay and are already longing to go back. It really is, as they say, “easy to reach, hard to leave.”

I visited The Lakes by YOO for a getaway with a group of friends, and could not recommend it more highly. We stayed in one of the three bedroom apartments which are so beautifully appointed - every bedroom has its own en suite, the interiors are gorgeous and we loved the open plan kitchen / living room. The highlight though was the wraparound terrace with views out over Marley Lake - watching the sunrise here before a bracing dip in the lake is really an experience that can't be beaten! There's such a wonderful sense of calm and tranquility around The Lakes by YOO, while still having all of the amenities and level of service you'd want from a luxury break - we enjoyed a lovely lunch in the restaurant, explored all of the facilities in the spa (which even includes a cryotherapy chamber!) and took a few lovely walks around the grounds to discover a farm with pet goats and pigs! We didn't go on the zip line but overheard some other guests talking about it so it's definitely on the list for next time. We came home feeling so recharged - I have already booked to return with my family later this year!
