Premier Inn Stafford North (Spitfire)

Very poor experience. The hotel reception team were grumpy and dismissive. A lack of basic customer service skills, no eye contact, no greeting, no information on services offered. The hotel is tired and grubby, there is a dirty smell throughout. My room was tired and grubby, it needed a good refurb. The bath/shower has black mould and there were cobwebs in most corners. The walls are paper thin and every noise from the next rooms and rooms above can be heard. I wouldn’t return to this hotel.

Was served by Jayne and Robin for breakfast and they went above and beyond to make me feel confortable and welcome after a mix up on times. Also Robin does PERFECT poached eggs! Really apreciate such lovely staff esp for being a nervous wee bean myself! Breakfast was lovely!

This review can be split over 2 different situations! 1) the hotel staff on check in was amazing and accommodating and also having a little bit of Easter fun with the children. In the evening we then went across the road and had a lovely meal in the adjoined restaurant. 2) Monday morning this was our worst experience in any premier inn. Food options were limited, with a SEN son who has his routine and always has pancakes. We were told that they were in the freezer and they didn’t want to put anymore on! In addition it wasn’t pleasant with 1 member of staff also seemingly barking orders at her colleague which could be heard from the table. Overall that’s why we have scored this average as it’s the tale of 2 half’s. Amazing Sunday experience poor Monday morning experience.

Unfortunately this was the most uncomfortable night I’ve had in a premier inn. The noise travelled between rooms clearly, the beds not up to standard and the room hadn’t been properly cleaned or toilet paper supplies topped up. The restaurant only had half the menu available and they were even lacking sides to go with the dishes they had. Service was slow for dinner and then breakfast was cold and staff not interested.

The staff at reception and in the adjacent Redhill Restaurant were always very kind, courteous and helpful. Libby and Jayne, our waitresses were particularly good as came to check on how our meals were. Libby is a gem to to your team! Room 227 had a draught from the window frame. Comfy beds and the room was nice. Food in the restaurant was good.

Dining in the Redhill restaurant (Spitfire Premier Inn), Katie-Alex, Libby & Debbie, were very friendly, attentive and catered to all of my food & drinks needs. I would definitely recommend them for the service and I would return again, whenever I’m in Stafford.
