Penbontbren Luxury Bed and Breakfast

Penbontbren is a very beautiful place hidden away in the countryside only a few miles from the beaches with lovely large gardens ,a great place to relax ,we came over from southend on sea We were welcomed by the hosts Kathryn and Richard , they are extremely nice people ,very welcoming which is lovely . The accommodation was perfect ,providing everything we could possibly need and more ,the accomodation was extremely clean . The breakfast was very good with a good selection to choose from ,cereals youghurt ,fruit ,and a list of all the cooked breakfasts ,we had the traditional breakfast ,everything on the plate was extremely good . We really enjoyed it there Thankyou so much

The perfect spot to relax and explore this glorious part of Wales for the first time. The location is secluded and peaceful but with plenty to do nearby whatever the weather. We loved the walks we took on the glorious coastal path and inland, stopping for lunch at place recommended by our lovely helpful hosts, Kathryn and Richard - superb fish and chips on the sea wall one day, a riverside pub lunch on another. A wet day sent us off to the family run Daffodil pub ten minutes away for a proper locally sourced Sunday lunch, another recommendation and a real find. The rooms are very comfortable and combined the best of b&b (delicious breakfast and helfpul, knowledgeable hosts) with the convenience of self catering (happy dogs, the ability to cook a simple meal in the little kitchenette and curl up on the sofa in the pleasant sitting room for a movie night. The grounds are beautiful and our dogs loved them too. We need to come back in the summer to try the croquet lawn. Most of all we loved this part of Wales - so friendly and unassuming, delicious local food, wonderful unspoilt countryside. We felt like we'd discovered a wonderful secret place perfect for a break at any time of year (if you come prepared for a bit of weather!) Penbentbren is the perfect base for such a stay. We're already planning our next trip.

We have stayed at Penbontbren at least once a year ( Covid 19 excluded) for the past 10 years both as a couple for a few days in the B & B, and with our family who occupy the cottage for a week. We cannot fault fault the accommodation at both cottage and B & B. Clean,comfortable, relaxed and welcoming. Kathryn and Richard could not be kinder or attentive hosts and the breakfasts using local products are super. It is very peaceful there, yet close enough to the local sites, villages, towns and beaches with some great reasonably priced eating places within easy driving distance. We are already looking forward to our return next year.

So enjoyed being back in Penbontpren. The suite was lovely - warm and very comfortable, opening out onto the large garden. My lab, Amber, loved that, especially the stream. Kathryn and Richard welcomed me as a friend rather than a guest. A really enjoyable few days.

We had a wonderful stay at Penbontbren for a couple of nights. The accommodation provided is of an excellent standard, with lots of thoughtful touches. We were delighted to see fresh milk and welsh cakes on our arrival so we could make a proper cup of tea and have a snack after our long journey. Penbontbren is surrounded by its own pretty gardens and is within easy reach of the beautiful mid-Wales coast where we enjoyed a walk from Aberporth to Penbryn. Breakfast was served in the pretty dining room, where there was a great choice. We had the full cooked Welsh breakfast was delicious, but there were lots of other breakfast options including fresh fruit, porridge, eggs on toast, pancakes etc.. Kathryn and Richard were fantastic hosts and we definitely want to return, as we had such a lovely time.

Perfect stay as always at Penbontbren , it's always lovely to see Kathryn and Richard and have a catch up and enjoy the delicious breakfast each morning. If you are looking for absolute peace and tranquility , this is the place , lovely drives out in all directions . Enjoyed watching the birds starting to nest and took some lovely pictures in the grounds . And the bed is like no other. I've never slept better than in those beds . See you next time . Thank you
