Out of date!! You could hear noises form the hallway like someone was standing right next to you.No note about the pool being renovated on web site.Room not very clean. Stayed one night had to leave for an emergency was told was going to get a refund nope charged me for what would have been my whole stay. Never will I nor my family be staying here.

I don't recommend staying here at all. Unless you wanna be ripped off!! I was charged a $250 smoking fee and the room was not smoked in. None if us even smoke!! I'm not the only person this has happened to. My friend also got a room the same night I did and was charged the same thing. There is also other reviews where it's happened to alot of people. Think twice before staying here!! A one night stay here cost me $380 and I'm still fighting to get my $250 back.

One night was more than enough. If this place is renovated they skipped the room we stayed in. See the pictures, the toilet is old and stained, rust and faulty caulking around the toilet and tub, the carpet was so stained and filthy, i slept in my clothes.

The hotel is convenient to Dahlgren base as well as shopping and restaurants. However, they are undergoing a "complete renovation" Also, however, that doesn't excuse the condition of the room I was given (for 9 nights). If it would have been a one night stay I could have overlooked most of the issues, but it wasn't, so I didn't. Initial: room reeked of mildew. I combatted this by using housekeeping's odor eliminator spray (I used a lot) and kept the a/c fan on the entire time I was in the room and that seemed to at least keep the smell knocked down. The bathroom was basically a disaster. The toilet was unacceptable: small, cracks and marks on the seat, way low to the ground. Grouting/sealing at the base was discolored and peeling away. Shower head was unacceptable. Non-maneuverable, poor water dispersion, poor water pressure. No stopper/plug in the bathroom sink. Window was unacceptable. Almost like it was stained or something. There were what appeared to be nicotine stains (drips) on the wall across from the bathroom. Carpet had spots/stains. Door was drafty. The smoke detector was literally hanging by wires from the ceiling. Service was hit or miss. I was told upon check-in that my room would only be serviced every 3 days. Which I thought was odd, but whatever. Third day rolls around (Saturday) I had the "do not disturb" sign out (I forgot); housekeeping didn't knock, didn't ask, just slid a note under the door saying (in essence) since I had the do not disturb sign on the door, they "didn't disturb" So it was 5 days until I got fresh towels. It took a day or more extra until my trash was taken out and the bed was made for the first time. I voiced all my complaints (about the condition) to the hotel the day after I checked in when they texted me and asked me about my stay. Hotel said they would follow up with me, that never happened. Contacted Choice Hotels corporate and told them everything (and sent photos) and that seems also be a dead-end. All in all this was a most unpleasant and unacceptable experience. I would not recommend this hotel, I would not recommend the Choice brand (which encompasses a lot of different hotel brands) and I definitely would not repeat.

DON'T TRUST this place!! Was charged for two rooms when I only reserved one. Lady and front desk said she checks on the rooms around 12 each day to see if they need anything. They only clean every 3 days, and we didn't ask for room service(weird). Get back to the room after being gone all day and a nice bottle of Burbon was missing, lamps had been moved and phone chargers were unplugged. I go tell the front desk around 9:00PM and he tells me there is no way anyone can come in our room, but he would review the tapes around 1:00am. WTH!! Nothing. I ask in the morning the same lady that said she checks on the rooms and she said, "It wasn't me". Not Oh sorry let's see what we can do to resolve this. Should have known better when the cops were leaving the lobby as we arrived. On top of this it is a nasty place, floors in the room were sticky, with stains everywhere.

Lobby was very attractive, front desk person as helpful as could be. Room was dirty and outdated. The bathroom had years of ground in dirt. Ice machine broken, no TV remote, hairdryer missing from the room and pool was full of algae. Would not stay again and would not recommend

I was seeking a hotel with a pool for a small family getaway. I confirmed the pool was operational before booking. My children love swimming pools and were so excited until we arrived. The pool looked like a pond. To our bitter disappointment the pool maintenance had been neglected. Could you imagine what our room could have been like. I can’t speak to it because I decided not to enter the hotel. I was sure the pool was a reflection of the entirety of the hotel. Either way I wasn’t going to risk the health of my children. It went downhill from there. The hotel is unable to provide me a refund when I didn’t even check in. I am unable to reach anyone at the front desk. I am only greeted with a dial tone when trying to reach them. What I thought would be a simple refund process with the concern for health and safety, became hours of explaining how unsuitable their product was for only a 20 percent markdown. In conclusion, my review for this hotel with a pond is unhealthy, swimless, and a complete lack of customer service. Maybe someone else can review the interior. No thank you!

Honestly I only stayed one night for a motorcycle race event and needed a place to stay. They were the only hotel with rooms. The hotel from the outside looks ok. Nothing fancy. The lobby was nice. The breakfast area was small and limited on food. Literally eggs and sausage links. The room… it was very outdated, old, dirty and hot. I travel with my own blanket and sheets but this place wasn’t worth staying at. I could have stayed in my trailer and felt more comfortable. I could hear the people below me coughing and spitting all night long. The headboard look like someone was chewing on it. The tv didn’t work. The fridge wasn’t turned on. The air wasn’t on. The curtain was broken. Trash and or food was on the floor around the base. In The hallway you could smell people smoking and I’m a non smoker. The parking area was small. I realized it was only one hall of rooms. Upstairs and downstairs that’s it. I wouldn’t stay here again i was trying to book the my place hotel but they were booked I had a 2 queen bed room

We have traveled a lot and I must say this is probably the worst place we have ever stayed! It was absolutely filthy. En route to our room, the door was open to the laundry room and it was disgusting. Trash all over the floor and piles of linens everywhere. I'm not even sure we had clean sheets on the bed. The carpet was not vaccuumed and didn't look like it had been in quite some time, and there were stains all over it. The carpet everywhere else in the building was also filthy. There was a ton of hair beneath the mirror in the bathroom. The window curtain was torn and hanging down over the AC vent. Actually, the entire building was dirty and unkept. I don't understand how others gave it good reviews, and it certainly has not been renovated in quite some time.

If your looking at this place, just keep scrolling. Dirty, filthy nasty! We had clothes from the previous peoples stay found in the corners. Pulled out the couch bed and OMG! There was garbage, old food and things that I didn't want to know what it was in there. Said something to management and they still didn't come and clean it up. Breakfast was pathetic. Danish were stale and moldy

When I got there to the hotel the receptionist was very generic and not real friendly. I went up to my room and there was dirt all over the carpet and some torn up paper down the hallway. I opened the door to the smell of mold and the air conditioner running full blast. The floor carpet was so dirty and the bathroom floor was disgusting. There was mold growing on the ceiling.. There was bed bugs in the bed closest to the door and maybe on the other one as well. There was something spilled all over the walls. The bathtub was gross and there was poop on the toilet seat.. I went downstairs with priceline on the phone and told the receptionist the state of the room and interiors & asked to leave and not be required to stay there the 4 days I booked. I got a full refund but as soon as I left I saw the receptionist go sit back down in the lounge and watch TV nothing was done. Nobody cleaned that room and it was awful. I am still shaking from how disgusting it was I'm just very glad I did not bring my stuff in that room. Room number 214 do not stay here!!!

My pictures sun up the whole visit. Run from this place and stay at the Holiday inn across the street. It was dirty, nasty, stained, old, loud, and had a smell of smoke. The breakfast was pitiful with only prepackaged items available. They did have a waffle iron that she can make waffles which was the only nice thing about it. I have never written a review good or bad in my life but could not leave this place without warning others.

We visited my son, who is stationed at the Naval base minutes away. We have had positive experiences at Country Inns before and chose to stay here because the price was a bargain when compared to comparable accommodations nearby. The hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet. We reserved a room with a King size bed, separate living area and 2 TV's. The bed was extremely comfortable, with many pillows from which to choose providing quiet, restful sleep. Plenty of hot water. Breakfast was adequate but due to the COVID pandemic is limited to juice, bagels, hot waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, and pre-packaged "grab and go" items like sausage and biscuits and fruit danishes. Hot coffee and tea available in the lobby 24/7. We hope the hotel is able to return to providing fresh, hot breakfast choices soon when the pandemic is no longer a concern. Daily housekeeping is optional due to the pandemic. We declined housekeeping but asked the housekeeper for fresh bath towels, which she gladly provided. We were pleased and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we return to Dahlgren. A few minor issues which I must point out, but were not deal-breakers: the elevator is located at the farthest point from the hotel lobby - not the fault of the staff or management but it makes me wonder who thought it was a good idea when the facility was designed. The power strip that powers the TV, microwave and mini-fridge was exposed and hung loosely from the wall outlet instead of being safely tucked away. There were a few small spots on the carpet. The bathroom tub nozzle was loose. Nothing major that would prevent us from staying here again. I can't speak for the experience of others, but we didn't have a negative experience or find the property to be as poor as others have depicted it in their reviews. It was almost perfect except for the few minor issues I have explained. This property rated a 4+ star review. However, to give a 5 star review would not be fair to other Country Inns where we have stayed that earned a full 5 star review.

This hotel is filthy. There was a big puddle of water on the bathroom floor when we arrived. Looked like the toilet was leaking. The room smelled like cigarette smoke and it was dirty and run down. The door was as thin as plywood and you could hear everything in the hallway and next door. The towels were very thin and rough. The coating on the bathroom tub looks like it has been worn away over time. The pillows were very small and flat. Bed was mediocre. When we arrived, the desk clerk was bundled up in a blanket sitting in a corner of the lobby on her phone. She never greeted us or provided any information about where our room was or anything else. Will never stay at another one of these again.
