I stayed at Nomade Auberge together with a friend and his girlfriend, and while the location is great for kitesurfing, the overall experience was unfortunately very disappointing.
We had booked two bungalows – one for the couple and one for me as a solo traveler – but when we arrived, we were told the camp was overbooked. As a result, we were taken to another camp and had to share a room as three people for the first three nights. Only after that did we finally get the bungalows we had originally booked.
Communication with the hotel was extremely poor. Phone calls were not answered, emails were vague and unhelpful, and we received no information about airport transfer in advance. We were only picked up after asking around at the airport, and later charged 15 € per person per direction – without any prior agreement or price information.
During our stay, I rented kite gear and experienced serious issues. Although I clearly asked for a full-day rental, I was charged two half-day rentals on two different days. This is particularly frustrating because the price structure clearly favors full-day rental (longer = cheaper), while half-day pricing is more expensive when booked multiple times. When I pointed this out, I was simply told: “That’s our hotel policy,” and that no discussion was possible.
Additionally, the rental times are strictly limited. Gear is not available before 10:00 AM or after 7:00 PM, and during lunchtime, no equipment can be issued at all, meaning you're forced to take a break. This makes the idea of a "full-day rental" almost meaningless – you’re paying for a full day but are only allowed to kite within a restricted window.
One extremely disturbing experience happened during a hotel-organized excursion. Two members of the hotel staff made openly anti-Semitic remarks, saying they hated Jews, declared themselves fans of Hitler, and even gave the Hitler salute. This was deeply shocking and made us feel very unsafe. It’s absolutely unacceptable and shows a severe lack of cultural awareness and respect.
On top of all that, the bungalows had no mosquito nets, were not cleaned during the stay, had limited electricity (cut off in the middle of the night), and one of them even had a mouse. Hygiene was poor, and many of us had stomach issues throughout the stay. Wi-Fi is only available in the main area, not in the bungalows.
This place has potential due to its location, but unless there is serious improvement in management, communication, cleanliness, and basic human decency, I would not recommend it to anyone. I wish I had read a review like this before booking.
